Comment:
Tisnado shows you all the techniques and equipment, but is very chatty. Hes always sharing random life stories, so class and critiques end up being long-winded. He'll give you a lot of work, and you'll need to spend time outside of class to finish. Coming from someone who only touched the book twice, his class is doable if you just participate.

Best professor ever. Really cares about all his students, very helpful, impeccable source of knowledge. Have a question? He likely has an answer. Effort and originality are key. He never asks for anything that isn't doable.

Jim is awesome. He is so nice & very helpful. He has a ton of great stories to entertain you while you are working for hours on the wheel or hand building. I had a difficult time with the wheel at first, but I stuck with it and ended up loving it. Ceramics takes time, just work hard, put the hours in and you are guaranteed a good grade!

I recommend Tisnado for a Ceramics Survey class. Laid back, knowledgable, interesting personality. I knew nothing about ceramics before taking this class. He's made it quite enjoyable. When going to his class, it's a stress free environment. Unlike the way other classes can be.

Great prof - he really cares about making sure his students grasp the concepts he goes over. Good conversationalist too, he seems to be very well rounded. I recommend art majors take at least one of his courses.

Jim's a pretty cool prof. He's full of great stories to tell (helps with long critiques). The projects are fun- a challenge at first, but he's very willing to help you. Due dates are a little tight, but not too bad. Originalty in your work is expected!
