One of the best and funniest instructors around. He is willing to help if the student is motivated enough to accept guidance. Easily one of the best instructors around.

By all rights I should have failed the tube-to-tube transfer. I didn't sterilize my loop the second time. When I thought I'd finished, Dr. Charba gave me an expectant but subtle "What are you doing?" look, and I hastily jammed my loop back into the microincinerator, feeling silly. He gave me 5/5. Nice guy. Good conversations. He knows his stuff.

Old school professor which is what is needed in micro lab. He is salty, tells it like it is, & has a good personality. More than patient w/ slacker students than they deserve. Very knowledgeable but can be no nonsense so pay attention. Lab tests are in depth but relatively easy if you study the lab packet & pay attention.

He was my lab instructor. He was very knowledgeable & helpful when students had questions but always had a little attitude (in my opinion that's just part of his personalty). He explained lab expectations very clearly & always gave tips & pointers about what would b difficult 2 perform during lab or topics that may b covered on the lab practical.

Dr. Charba is beyond awesome. Great sense of humour and tells you precisely what you need to know to make it through lab. If you're struggling, you're not listening. Loved it when he made fun of morons in other classes (never calling anyone out in particular, of course)!

I liked Dr. Charba. He was funny and he's one of those teachers that loves his job. Micro lab isn't meant to be easy, but it's up to you. They do not make you do anything, and don't hold your hand through the class. The practical and midterm were all right. He's a nice guy and wants the best for everyone. Don't need the book. It was easy.

Honestly... i rarely saw him in lab. The TAs mainly taught everything. Things seemed crazy, confusing, and disorganized. Everyone looks around and goes, "so what are we supposed to do?" However, the lab tests and practicals are fair. lab packet a must-read and know for the exams!

I had his micro lab and it was really fun, but still really hard. Those tests are going to mirror Dr. Whites tests in difficulty. He tells you what you need to know (which is everything) BUT this class is the cornerstone of your M&M degree, you CANNOT take it at a CC. PRINT YOUR LAB PACKET on day 1 and start studying.

Lectures are boring. Beware of his tests: They can be tricky! Overall if you study his notes, the references in the book, and (especially) the handouts you should survive (NOT a guaranteed A).

hard to follow, has a hard time with the projector and writes his notes by hand. (hard to read) 3 tests but if you do better on your 2nd test, your 1st score will increase. day of final he told us about a review. labs are useless there is a HARD exam on EVERYTHING at the end. Nice guy but take @ VCC

Be prepared to read the entire book and still do poorly on the tests. He gives you no direction what-so-ever as to what he is going to test you on. Yes, ALL the material may be important, however it is impossible to soak all of this info in with a full time shedule. SOME DIRECTION PLEASE!

This class takes a lot of effort on the students part because the notes that are given in lecture are more of a guideline for studying than as the main source. I used them as a guide and sudied from the textbook and it was still hard. Some of the test questions seem to come from nowhere.

VERY BORING! the information was interesting but he hand writes his notes which is time consuming and boring. very nice man. tests are extremely hard. you have to read the book to be able to understand the notes. class time seemed to move backward. lab was a joke but the lab final is tricky.

By far the worst class I've taken at ucf. Completley unorganized and nonspecific. He expects you to know everything, for ex. our last test is 40 questions on 8 chapters, he gives no reviews and no hints of what is on the test. when you ask he says know it all. lectures are boring the lab is a joke.

This was the most disorganized class I've ever had. This disorganization makes it even harder to pass tests. The grades are based on 3 lecture tests and 25% lab which is a concepts test and a skills test. It's unfortunate that he is the only professor for this class. I'd be thrilled to get a C.

This guy is cracks me up. The lecture might be boring, but quit whining; this stuff is not too difficult. Go to lecture and lab, study, and you'll do fine. In the meantime you can laugh and wonder if he's exasperated or possibly a little tipsy.
