Katherine is one of the best teachers I have ever had! She really cares about her students, and the discussions in class as well as the readings were very interesting and thought-provoking. Would definitely recommend taking one of Katherine's classes. Just make sure to participate a LOT

I took her freshman seminar class, Spiritual Autobiography, last semester and she is legitimately one of the greatest professors at TNS. (though her assignments were often a bit unclear and too frequent) She knows how to keep students engaged. I felt like I learned more about writing from her class than my writing class. In short, she's wonderful.

Katherine is seriously cool. She is intense, and the reading and writing for this class is highly demanding, but it really is a rewarding experience. Do the reading, participate in class, and you'll be fine. Katherine really, truly wants her students to succeed and enjoy the class on top of getting a lot out of it, so she's helpful and kind.

Katherine wasn't helpful at all when I misunderstood an assignment. Instead, she chastized me and made me feel very uncomfortable. She also called me out in class once when I was daydreaming and instead of letting it go, she kept the pressure on me for about 10 minutes, hammering me with questions about the subject matter at hand.
