Comment:

I thought Kyle was a good professor! I enjoyed his Geo 101 class and learned a lot. He is very clear in his lectures and he took us on a couple of field trips! I was nervous based on other peoples reviews of him, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I learned and how I liked him.

Comment:

I took Kyles class as a high schooler and found him to be great. He was understandable, cared about participation, and really showed a want for us to not only understand the material, but appreciate it. He was relaxed and had a dry sense of humor, and although he would lecture quite a bit, made sure to livin things up with breaks,jokes, and labs.

Professor Nichols is a pretty charming person, but as a professor, he is not the best. His lectures are by far super boring and he tends to be more unclear when explaining concepts. His exams are super hard as well.

I couldn't even finish his class and dropped out halfway. He lectures at you and doesn't explain anything very well. Just lectures and talks on and on and on. Something that really upset me to see was his obvious superiority complex and how condescending he is / unhelpful he is towards students. Not helpful in any regard, makes you hate the subject

He will grade you on his opinions and is very egotistical and boring. His lectures put me to sleep. On the bright side, he doesn't give a ton of papers but the ones he does give are graded somewhat harshly.

Terrible teacher. Smart, but does not know how to teach. He loves to hear himself speak and will stifle discussion because he touts his opinion as being above everyone else's. Purposefully makes you feel inferior and his cynicism seeps into everything, ruining any chance for inspiration. He's hyper-critical and blindly hypocritical.

While I'm sure you could do worse than professor Nichols, he is far from a good teacher. His lectures were boring and confusing because he jumped all over the place while explaining topics. His tests were moderately difficult, but most of the challenge came from how poorly everything had been taught in the first place. Avoid if possible.

Very little work but the exams are far too difficult. This was an intro level class and the average exam grades hovered around a D. Fairly knowledgeable professor who is enthusiastic about his field but out of touch with the idea that intro level, required classes full of non-majors should not be so challenging.
