I have never seen a prof be so disrespectful to students. Extremely condescending and rude. Lectures are outdated and extensive. Heavy workload. Gives confusing and useless feedback, while making you revise things several times for no credit. Class format (modules, assignments, quizzes) is confusing and complicated. Should not be teaching.

His class is all over the place, really hard to follow. His lecture is extensive and rather complex. Mandatory group project no way around it. The class software installation is painful & his instructions are extremely complex. He means well & tries to get his point across but doesn't succeed. Stubborn professor, class is designed to satisfy him.

Record every lecture and listen to them before taking his quizzes. He gets his questions straight from his lecture, don't buy the the book. He does make crude jokes and can go off on tangents, just don't things personally and sometimes his tangents are quiz questions.

In all honesty, this was the worst prof I've ever taken. Not only is he all over the place with his lectures, but he straight up does NOT care about his students, he will literally go out of his way to make you feel dumb. If you could avoid taking him, I AM WARNING YOUU do not take him, you will regret it.

This is the most difficult class I have ever taken at UCF, but felt that I learned a lot. You need to read the chapter and watch his online lecture videos, all quizzes and test are questions that he writes. Weekly quizzes at the end of each chapter and two papers, no discussion posts.

Do everything you can to avoid taking him. The class is only weighed by quizzes and two reports. He has his on difficult grading scale and mutes your grade until the end of the semester so you're unable to see your progress. When you email him about a question or confused based on his instructions, he belittles you and makes you seem unintelligent

Professor was not understanding and with bad jokes( about his wife, family, and students). Complicated test and grading 1 question 10 points. Not understanding or flexible. Worst professor I ever had.

All he grades on are quizzes and one paper. His quizzes are super hard and very long winded. His final will save your grade. You definitely need the book to be able to get through the quizzes, and going to class might help (I didn't and still passed)

Easy class. This was one of my first HSA classes and I definitely could have gotten an A if i tried just a little harder. Ended up with an 85 with medium to minimal effort. Actually went to class like a total of 4 times. Just read the textbook and text search his power points for the quizzes. Final was 80% recycled quiz questions which he left open

The class was challenging but not difficult if you take good notes. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you want to do well on the quizzes go to class. Write down everything he says, he often talks about quiz questions discreetly. Goes on at least one rant per class. Final exam and project are easy to get A's on if you put in the work.

Dr. West was a great professor during my time in this course. It was not an easy class and in order to do well you are expected to stay on top of the subject material, participate in discussions, do the exercises, and ask questions. He may come off harsh and direct, but it is for your benefit so that you push yourself to understand the material.

A lousy professor in a poorly-designed Healthcare informatics master's program quickly put together by UCF. Webpages notated that course material was "Last Updated 2013" as a student in Fall of 2015. He creates unwanted stress and anxiety. A real poindexter with cryptic grading style that is subjective. Nothing that I ever want to experience again.

Do NOT skip them, or you will regret it. Each quiz is going to be hard so you NEED to take notes during class. If there are questions you think are graded unfairly, contact him and defend your position as best as you can; trust me. Whenever you contact him, make sure you state which class and section you're on or he will be very rude to you.

I took this class and did well so this review will be hopefully helpful. His lectures are good and necessary in order to pass. Quizzes and assignments require application of knowledge. He is pretty mean and unhelpful online, I had clear screenshots of a technical problem and he still gave me a hard time in regrading my work.

Professor West teaches in an easy to understand manner and is always willing to help. He is one of the only professors at UCF that really lectures and teaches you the material. His quizzes aren't easy though as you must apply what you learn to real world examples. However, it was worth it in the end because I actually got something out of his class

I have to laugh at the last two responses from this same class. I took him with a full load of classes and did just fine. His instructions could not be more clear in what he asks for so if you don't do well, it's your own fault. Go to class and pay attention to his demonstrations. Group work is optional! Tough class but I learned a lot.

LOOK FOR ANOTHER PROFESSOR NOW! He is nice in class and not online. Unfair grader. Looks for specific answers with vague instruction leaving room for a lot of confusion and failure. NOT HELPFUL. Feels like we bother him when you ask questions. I learned more at home reading the book than going to his class. Avoid if want to enjoy your semester.
