Not sure if this professor should be allowed to teach. First complaint, horrible spelling both in e-mails and tests. Second complaint, not clear in defining written assignments. If he is looking for a brief answer, don't believe it.

Comment:

Ortiz should NOT be teaching online classes. Reading the text hardly helps because he asks questions as if he wanted to make sure you would the answers wrong. Focuses on irrelevant material. Very demanding, more than an on-campus class. Essays every other week. Spare your effort, take another teacher.

This teacher is hard. His class is ridiculous, quiz every week, the chapters take almost 2hours to read, sometimes his tests have nothing to do with what we read, his lectures are boring, and he has a cocky personality. psh please, I have a B in this class and that was tough enough to get, I don't recommend him

I don't know if the people rating him on a good level actually went to him in class, but his online class is BRUTAL. On top of having an extremely hard test every single week, we have a discussion board, responses, essays and extra questions he gives us. I wish i could write more about how horrible this class is, but I cant. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS.

I can't believe that I pick this class just because I check here and it show somewhat easy to pass. But I now find out everyweek I have a test, a discussion board question and sometime one more essay to write. There is endless paper to read and write, how am I suppose to take care other class? I hope I'll pass, cause I don't want to see it again

He doesnt have slide to teach or at least some simplier way of reading, instead he tell students to read every page of each chapter and get it by themselves. He also gives out discussion board and writing assignment plus test every week. Worst teacher I've ever had online. ! Didn't give an area to focus for test. Hard grader! I tried but failed.

His online class is fine. Easy to get a B and their isn't that much more effort required to get an A. I'm getting a B, but I wish I did a tiny bit more on my reading assignments and essays. The extra credit which I didn't do is also helpful.

Mr. Ortiz is a great teacher. His lectures are very interesting and not boring.His test are multiple choice, as long as you read your text book you will do great on your test. Very approachable teacher. I would take his class any day!

VERY NICE TEACHER, HE KNOWS THE SUBJECT! MOST OF THE QUIZZES ARE TAKE HOME! HE GIVES LECTURE AND AS LONG AS YOU TAKE NOTES ITS ALL GOOD! HE OFFERS A LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT!!! DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!!!! ITS EASY!!!

Mr. Ortiz is a wonderful teacher he is very dedicated to his work. Anyone who has a bad comment must not have put fourth an effort.He is very relaxed understanding and easy. His tests are super easy open book and he gives great notes. People who say he is confusing must be confused themselves he is a Stanford graduate give him his props!

He doesn?t know how to use the online class system and ignores emails from students. Assigns discussion board topics but then doesn?t set up the discussion board. Expectations are very unclear. He has numerous grammar and spelling errors in his lectures and posts. I love history and had to drop it with a Withdraw to find a better instructor.

Take his Online class ! Super-awesome-easy, just read one chapter per week, do a 20 question multiple choice quiz (within 35 minutes) per week on the chapter you read that week and answer 1-2 short ques. on the discussion board each week... I did each week's assignment in 2-3 hours. da only other thing u hav you do is rite a 7 page essay (easy).

Mr Ortiz is a great teacher. Quite easy, as long as you read the textbook. Gives weekly quizes,which at times are a bit tricky. Will have to do one writing assignment, but he gives you plenty of time to do it in. Also have group discussion, lectures were interesting. You have to read the book!

His lectures do get boring but thats like every teacher there is. Many of the quizzes were take home and the tests are easy, many ?s were from the quiz.Offers extra credit.Overall read the book, do well on tests/quiz and you'll be fine. When you do the 1 major paper, he is willing to go over it with you to make it better. Take him!

I'm taking 2 online classes and Mr Ortiz's 3 unit class has literally twice the reading, homework, writing and quizzes as the other one. I believe a person should work hard for a grade, but he is VERY hard and BORING! He takes FOREVER to get back to you. Also two of the quizzes had wrong answers! Then it was a huge ordeal to get the point added.

His online class is hard. He gives you tons of homework for a 3 unit class! There are weekly chapter quizzes & extra assigned reading. His quiz questions are unclear & confusing. Don't take his class, it's a waste of time unless history is your passion.
