Comment:
A very straightforward professor. If you pay attention and try to go to every lecture, you will definitely pass. Also, he has (or used to) reviews on Fridays, which are extremely helpful since he gives lots of time for your questions and makes extra practice questions. Your TA will help you a lot with this class as well.

His lectures were okay. A little boring, but pretty decent, if you like the subject matter.

Comment:
He reads off of his powerpoint slides all class and never learned anyone's names even though there were only 20-ish kids in the section. Don't take honors chem with him unless you have taken AP/IB chem already because you WILL fail. He assumes his honors kids have already learned all of the material in high school and skips large chunks of info.

Comment:
He taught from powerpoint slides nearly the entire semester and would often skip the problems because he assumed we already knew how. This was the honors section, however, and should ONLY be taken if the student has AP or IB experience and could confidently teach a peer the material after a review.

Nice, extremely intelligent guy. Worst possible class to take first semester, freshman year. Terrible at explaining things. If you don't have an overly solid knowledge of Chemistry, don't take the class. Class moves extremely fast, even for an Honors section. The workload is massive. Lab is twice a week and more often than not lasts way longer than the scheduled 3 hours.

He subbed for Klebba for one class and this man is amazing! So clear and easy to understand. He actually explains things rather than just putting them up on the screen. And if you're into hot older jewish men, you are in for a treat!

Ashby was awesome. He really knew his stuff, even if it was his first time teaching honors gen. chem. He was really nice and excused me when I was late for recitation. It's a good class.

The class is brilliant and the lectures are fascinating. All tests and lectures come nearly directly from the book so attendence is not entirely necessary. Although, I don't imagine anyone would want to miss it.

Ashby was pretty cool. He is definetely a chemistry dork, but he's got a personable personality, and he holds your attention well.
