Comment:

No reviews for exams so not really sure what to study for. Lectures are longer than needed. Grade is based on 4 exams. Homework isn't too bad. Very rude, instead of just giving you an answer to your questions he'll act like you're stupid and will give you a lecture for you to find your answer in yourself (even when you already looked through it.)

He has one way to teach. He will not repeat himself. He goes over powerpoints and you have to take notes. Make them as detailed as possible. He will never go over what to expect on his test and only covers material one time. 30 students our of 113 we able to get an A or B. The rest C-F. Over 45% failed the class. Good luck.

Only took this class because it's required in my degree plan. Must attend class and take good notes to pass. He is by far the rudest professor I have had while at MSU. If you travel back to 1985 you'll be set learning his outdated software. Don't ask questions or he'll talk to you like you're the dumbest person he's ever met.

I honestly loved this class. Dr. Patterson is obviously passionate about the subject and genuinely cares about the quality of the business program as a whole. Don't miss class, take good notes, do the homework, and review the material on a daily/weekly basis. His exams are as difficult as they should be. This is an upper-level management class.

Material isn't too hard but he makes it hard. Suspects everyone of cheating if they do well. If you go you'll do okay. You definitely have to study

I had to teach myself most of the material. NEVER miss a class. Unless you have somebody you know in the class that can catch you up, it's best just aim for perfect attendance. Because he is never available. He's tough, but fair. Meaning you'll get the grade you work for, but you really have to work for it. Take him in the summer, it's easier.

I enjoyed the subject matter. I didn't like him a lot but I learned a ton in his class. Took him for operations this last year. My only complaint is the stupid disk you have to buy to do the homework problems and final exam. He's a good teacher though. Operations management

He is THE worst Professor in the entire University. I have had a few and no one can be compared to him. He is boring, impolite, disrespectful and don't care about the students he teaches. You cannot even go to him to him you with the program he develops for the class because he will tell you to go home and try to understand it on your own. Rudeman

dont buy the book, you can do youre homework without it if you listen in class. Take notes on all examples and everything he says. The tests are only based on the notes and his powerpoints. Not hard just listen in class (even though its boring) and attend everyday.

You have to use his book and program (which he wrote in 1985 and is dos based) Don't bother buying the text book, or going to his office to ask for help. Neither will serve you. I am not trying to blast the guy but of all my courses at this business school, well he is the poster child for what is wrong with tenured profs.

Horrible teacher, extremely outdated material. If you pay attention in his classes, you will become an expert on business operations in 1985. Good luck staying awake. Easy stuff though. Don't need the book for OpMan, and for QuanMeth, it's just for hw assignments.

Tough class. Tough material. He knows this material backwards and forwards. You can take your textbook back to the bookstore and get your money back! Take good notes and attend EVERY day, you'll earn your A and take lessons that will prepare you for the rest of school or the rest of your life. Wish I had taken more of his classes.
