I had him for History of Photography...he is easily the most boring professor I have ever had here. Looks like a cool dude at first but he is so dry that I ALWAYS fall asleep. History of Photo is also easily one of the worst classes I've ever taken at ithaca college. DON'T TAKE HIST OF PHOTO, DON'T TAKE NICK!!!

Comment:

Nick is incredibly smart and if you're willing to challenge yourself he will be one of the best professors you'll ever have. His awesomeness is a lot more accessible in his Selected Topics classes when you can work with him one on one. History of Photo can get a little dull, but it's still interesting stuff.

Comment:

Nick is easily one of the WORST professors I have ever had. He pretty much lectures straight from the reading for the majority of the class. Therefore, reading the book is neccesary but going to class isn't. However, he has everyone sign in so skipping isn't an optition. Finally, there is no discussion to make things interesting.

nick is a funny little man. his language is a bit overacademic and hard to put into notes a lot of the time, but he says the stuff he wants you to know enough times that you can usually get it. i wouldn't recommend this class for anyone who doesn't absolutely love photography, but if you do, good stuff. the textbook was actually really interesting.

Nick is a nice guy, but an awful professor. Sometimes sitting in that class, I want to kill myself. I love photography, but he just presents the material so dryly that it makes me so bored. He is one of the most boring people alive. Don't take this class if you are actually interested in learning something interesting about photography.

Nick's lectures can be somewhat tiring. I don't deny falling asleep a bunch of times. However, he does try to make them interesting and they are pretty inspiring, in the context of photography. He knows it all.

Nick is the only professor that could actually make this class interesting... he lectures a little bit too fast but that is his personality. He's got the most awesome chuckle/laugh! Hard tests but will give partial credit if you make him laugh.

Nick is a great teacher! you're expected to do a lot of work (min. 2 rolls per week) but the textbook is optional and you do more hands on stuff than book learning. He really encourages you to just get out there and take pictures!
