It may SEEM like this guy is a good teacher, but he is not! Trust me, you will know when you take him. His grading schemes are incomprehensible, he picks his favorite students and sticks with them till the end. If you are not his favorite, you are screwed. Watch out his is out there to get you.

One of the best professors in the Soen department. Very precise, well prepared and helpful. His tests arent the easiest but if you go to class and participate (flash questions) you'll likely do great.

Really knows what he's talking about. Beware that his slides go all over the place, and he doesn't post all the slides online. (Slides are missing stuff!!) But if you go to class everything is good, because his lectures involve LOTS of participation and include many clear explanations.

He is picky and wants things done his way, but he prepares you well, if you pay attention and do the work. He is understanding, helpful and usually available for consultation. For SOEN 342, 343 and 344, there is NO better choice than Dr. Chalin if you really want to know the material. If you just want to pretend, go ahead and take someone else.

Worst teacher ever!Tricky,playing around student,and his goal is not to teach just to prove himself!He is not clear in anything,the mark distribution in the outline is not clearly specified(in a range) where if you get a good mark it will be 15% and if you get a bad mark you will be 35% and all depends on what "he" thinks of you, and your origin!

One of Concordia's best profs. Course is extremely well organized, stimulating and enriching. Prof is very competent and his TAs are also excellent and of great help and they know their stuff inside out. If you want to learn a thing or two about the trade, take him, it's quality education guaranteed.

He knows how to get class participation going, and answers a lot of questions in class. If you listen and read the required readings, doing well on midterms and the final is easy - he often reuses exxercise set, quiz and assignment questions by slightly modifying them.
