Dr. S was by far my favorite teacher I've ever had. He's truly caring for the students. Those that have experience singing and those who don't, he doesn't care, he'll treat you all the same and show love and be sure that everyone is getting the help that they need. Definitely noticed improvement with my singing and i sure hope to take him again.

He is the best professor in school. He really challenges you to learn. He does not focus on giving lectures, he gives questions and examples so you have to figure out yourself. He is also very generous. He is willing to help you when you get stuck. Also, he cares about everyone in the class.

Dr. Setziol is a great teacher. He's unlike any teacher I met; he challenges his students to think. It's as if he wants everyone to learn for themselves. He's a nice teacher, and he's not too demanding. He wants everyone to learn something. He wants everyone to pass and to learn something in his class. Finally he is highly respected by his students

I love this professor! He is a funny one and very helpful when it comes to singing. He is nice and willing to teach you how to sing. I recommend this professor if you are planning to take beginning voice. Worth the class!

Don't worry if you "can't sing", as long as you make significant improvement, you'll pass, that's all he wants. Best professor ever. Helped me improve my voice so much! If you can find a class he's teaching, SIGN UP FOR IT AND QUICKLY! He's funny and a little quirky, he might give you cookies and he's just a nice man on top of everything.

You would be hard-pressed to find a better music teacher -- hell, a better TEACHER -- than Dr. Setziol. He is wise, funny, interesting, friendly, and really cares about his students. You can tell that he is passionate about music and that he wants everyone to succeed. I recommend everyone take 3A, but the others are great for serious musicians.

I took the entire Comprehensive Musicianship series and it was all amazing. I started the class not knowing how to read music or play the piano, or write music for the most part, and now I can compose effing symphonies! Do everything he says and you will become a fantastic musician!

Greatest Professor I have ever had! He loves music, and he love to teach it. I have been through this entire music course series and I have learned so much. If you want to become a better musician, take this class. I didn't even know how to read music before taking this class! so good.

Please note that this man has an amazing ear. His approach to theory is more conceptual rather than concrete. If I were you, I'd get familiar with the piano so you can see (as well as hear) what he's talking about so you can understand it more easily. Unnecessarily pedantic (he's not a snob--he's actually very nice--this is just how he thinks).

The guy freak'n rocks! Teaches you secrets about the kinks of music, and teaches you a few secrets and kinks about life too while he's at it. Highly recommend him to anyone that loves music. The work is difficult, but great fun with the right mindset.

This is an absolutely fantastic professor. If you have even a remote love of music, you should take his classes. He is a treasure trove of information, and is absolutely dedicated to teaching. His instruction is worth every minute, and every penny. Expect to get more than just knowledge, be prepared for inspiration.

This man is an institution. I love him. Paul Setziol has the kind of knowledge that can best be termed 'old-fashioned.' It was once more common, I suppose, to be this devoted to one's subject. At any rate, taking the comprehensive series from him is a life changing experience if you show up. He is patient, wise, optimistic and truly devoted.

I love him. he is incredibly passionate & my hero! and he loves what he does, however if you want to go through the comprehensive series its really necessary to start at the beginning, to get a grip on teaching style and work load, but I ended up placing as a junior with music theory at the university of southern organ after taking these classes.

very nice, very funny, very helpful and veryy cool. he reeaally cares about his students and gives them candy! kinda like a highschool class but still very enjoyable. attendance and homework pretty much mandatory but nice about it. take notes in the class and go to office hours. great teacher
