Amazing professor -- applies concepts of the readings to relatable, real world concepts. participation is a MUST, for your benefit. Makes you reflect on what you're learning, including the things you thought you knew. Raw and passionate in lectures; her class is for credit, but mostly an experience.

Her mockery of student anxiety from papers that were not mentioned anywhere on the syllabus and her mockery of the counseling center were not appreciated. Also her inappropriate use of phrasing such as "thank you for not killing yourselves" was very unprofessional. The readings were pretty much gibberish because I had no background in politics.

Terrible teacher. Threatened to withdrawal everyone from her class if she saw a cellphone, yet disrupts class to answer phone calls when hers goes off.

Took her for Intro to Global Studies and again for a class at the 300 level. Very nice person and passionate about what she does. She has a reputation as a tough grader, but if you just do the readings her classes are not difficult. However, ambiguous quizzes were occasionally assigned.

Her course was simple, as long as you did the assigned readings for the night and participated in the class. Her tests were tough, but she would normally curve them. Her essay prompts were really lengthy, so be sure to meet with her to have her review your thesis and essay points! As long as you do your work and pay attention, you can get an A!

She would spend almost half the class talking about her beliefs on issues that have no correlation to the course. Her quizzes were usually open note, but would then ask the most specific or ridiculous questions about a movie you watched once, three weeks before the exam. The subject matter was pretty interesting, but she would not present it well.

She is simply the best. She makes sure everyone gets along while teaching. She teaches with passion and vigor. She has the ability to create a mental picture of the information conveyed in a material.

One of the earlier classes I took at school and found the class to be absolutely fascinating, engaging, and Peyi was always more than willing to help. Learned so much in the class and I wish I had time to take another one of her courses.

I learned a lot from this class. Peyi is very, very knowledgable and makes class interesting most of the time. However, the class is A LOT of work reading, writing, and discussion wise. Don't take it if you aren't prepared to work hard and be harshly graded.

Peyi is an inspiration. Her courses are tough and she expects students to work, but her ideas are methods are critical to helping students process their political educations. She has a rich history that benefits students and is highly concerned with her students' ability to process information and relate it to their individual lives.

Love her!!!! She is the best, and is sooo passionate. Sometimes, her accent is a tad hard to understand, but it is not bad at all. She does have a couple quirks to her as well, mainly the fact that she grunts when listening toy you talk. There is a heavy workload, but this class is worth it. It's amazing!!! And she is so helpful if you ask her.

Anyone who refuses to admit that there are problems in the world and who only says things that should be in whitewhine.com can refrain from taking her class. She is amazing as a person and as a professor. I gained a world of knowledge in her class and as tough as it is sometimes, i'm glad i'm aware of the problems that exist out there thanks to her

You must be ready for this class. The work load can be quite allot. That being said, however, it has been one of the most enriching and rewarding class experiences I have ever had. You will be fortunate to have Peyi as an instructor. She offered me a view on political thinking like you have never seen before...and I am fairly conservative!

Well I feel bad for my harsh criticism, but I just didn't like her as a teacher. As a person, she's really nice. Her material is so BORING in class. I hardly ever knew what was going on, and the material was dry. I highly recommend seeking another professor or avoiding the class entirely. It's just.... INSANELY boring..... SAVE YOURSELF!! :-)

Loved her class. She makes you very interested in African politics. I never knew much about the continent and she really challenges your stereotypical thinking and you really change your viewpoint after finishing her course. Lots of reading. I was not a politics major, but took this for fun.

She's a motivating and captivating professor. She makes you think a lot and challenges your perceptions of the world. Picks her favorites in lectures but always remains very objective in grading everyone. Lots of reading - mostly her own reader + several books. Overall - you gotta work hard in her classes, but your gonna benefit a ton, too!

I BEG you not to take this class unless you are like me and its required for a politics major. THE MOST closed minded professor in existence, loves her own opinion especially when its wrong, cannot give constructive criticism. Worse of all is her tests and essays are convuluted, horribly bias and everyday you learn the same stuff...EVERY DAY.
