I'm currently taking this course, and the content is interesting. There are discussion posts weekly, and some of the readings are a bit lengthy. There is payoff as good conversations can be had with the discussion topics. Be careful sending messages to him as sometimes he is nice about it, but other times he can come across as nasty.

At first, I thought it was going to be a hard class. However, I used sparknotes to make the readings more clear to me and kept up with the discussions. The mid term and final will not be hard if you have proper grammar and meet the length requirements. Much better option than taking this class in person and having to sit through it.

Quinn was alright. He seemed kind of bland at first but his titles for discussions spoke more to his personality. Midterm and final are essays and he gives enough time to do them. weekly readings are interesting and discussions are easy. I would take the class again.

This guy is totally chill. He actually does his job, grades papers quickly, and responds to emails right away. The midterms and finals are tough, but if you put the work in he won't screw you over. Highly recommend him for ENG 231 online

I took the online class. I did not have to use the book at all. All the reading material is old and available online for free. The professor knows the material very well and is there for assistance whenever needed. He is active in threaded discussion and he seems to respond to emails within 24 hours.

Easy class. But Quinn isn't a good English teacher. If you're the type that likes to read and get responses, don't take him. Even for an online class you can feel his bitterness towards the topic. He's rude and makes you feel stupid for any question you ask. His knowledge on literature is slim and he overloads his words to make himself sound smart.

Be prepared to read a lot and write a lot. There are 15 discussion questions you have to answer on the course of 5 weeks (online). You should answer them all AND reply to other's posts as well. There are two assignments: Midterm- answer two questions 750 words each, and Final- 3 questions 750 words each. Class isn't terrible just do the work.

Best English class I have taken so far! As long as you read and keep up with the discussions you will be fine! Very cool, and nice teacher! He keeps the discussions interesting. There is only a midterm and a final. I highly recommend taking his class.

Take Prof. Quinn. I took his online class. Weekly discussions, 1 midterm (2 750 word essays), 1 final (3 750 word essays). He's very easygoing and very responsive. Highly recommend!

Very easy class. Weekly readings with discussion on webcampus. 2 exams given (midterm & final). By the far the easiest English class I have taken. Saved many hours not having to attend a traditional English class especially for those with better things to do like focus on your major instead of listening to thousand(s) year old history.

I took two online classes, and I loved them. The subjects themselves were pretty broad - World Lit and American Lit - but his lectures were really fascinating and made everything so much more fun to read. I highly recommend him, especially if you're thinking about an online class. Not all teachers do it well, but he definitely does.

This class is pretty straightforward. I mean I used cliff notes and spark notes for the discussion and had no problems. The midterm and final were okay but you need to get an A on both to get yourself an A. I don't think he really cares about the dept. exam because I did horrible on it...i.e I didn't read anything, but I still managed an A.

Took this course DE and previous poster is right. Not an easy class, definitely a lot of readings. DO NOT GET BEHIND! Weekly postings required, 4 page midterm, 3 two pages papers for the final, and a multiple choice final as well. Not sure how he compares to other profs, but if you stay on top of things class isn't too bad. I would take again.

I wouldn't consider this an easy class. What is easy about it is that all you have to do are weekly discussions. However, there is a lot of readings...I mean this is an English class. In the end, if you don't read you won't know what to write for your midterm & final essays so think about it. Overall I did like this course.

Great Professor, this is the second time I have taken a course with him. Liked BritLit 2's subject matter more but this semester provided an additional bonus on how to handle vindictive attacks on beliefs, religion, and character. Very intensive yet he handled it with class and dignity. No restraints on self expression. Very cool.
