Very lecture heavy and test heavy. Way too much given at once for us to know and it can be very overwhelming. Honestly the most stressed I've ever bee in a class.

Comment:

Dr. Rosenfield is by far one of the best professors I've had at Stevens Point. His lectures are very informative and he references a lot of scientists, so be ready to remember the names and what their contribution was to Ecology. He has a dry sense of humor and his tests are difficult, but he does curve them. Overall, he was a great professor!

My favorite professor by far, Prof. Rosenfield is really passionate about what he teaches and is great at making things clear, funny and interesting. His character alone brings the class to life, took Ornithology and Ecology with him. Tough grader but always open to questions, will lean toward a higher grade if you put the effort in!

Comment:

Avoid his ornithology class! The level to which your grade is determined by your ability to memorize HUGE QUANTITIES of taxonomic information will be overwhelming for some. His personality is grating (large portions of lecture on self-congratulatory anecdotes). Seek out his ecology class though, very informative.

Bob knows so much about Biology/Ecology that it is amazing to watch him lecture. He seems to know every detail about each scientists and all of their experiments. My favorite quote from him was, "I even know what I don't know."

Ehh. He's ok. A nice guy but confusing in terms of what you will be held accountable for on exams. Prides himself on having a great vocabulary, but I find his writing really hard to follow and badly composed. I honestly don't get why some students seem to like him so much. Seems a little full of himself sometimes and definitely a bit pedantic.

DUDES! This guy is hilarious. If you like to learn about Birds and love humor. This is your guy. He was very knowledgeable and very intelligent. Its not an easy A with him by any means. But what you learn from him is incredible stuff. Especially anyone in the biology major that plans to do field work. I would take any class with this guy!

BEST PROFESSOR I WILL EVER HAVE AT UWSP. I wish I could take every course with him! Rosenfield is brilliant, helpful, hilarious and relates to students well. BUT, he can be hard to follow as he gets off track a lot. His class is hard, so you have to make it a priority but you will learn SO much. he's inspired so many students to further study birds

nice guy. really smart but for the class there is a lot of memorization. I am not a big fan of birds so did not like the class that much but the teacher is nice and helpful when you need him. take it if u love a good challenge and love birds

Probably the most worthwhile class I've taken in a while. The lectures are extremely interesting, and Dr. Bob is an amazingly expressive man. The only issue, is that his exams are very hard if you're not prepared. He asks questions on small seemingly unmportant pieces of information from the textbok. Be ready for a good class, but be ready to work.

Awesome prof. Super interesting class. Tests are hard but he uses the same exams for 1 and 2 every semester. Use them to study off of. Lectures are sometimes boring except when he brings in his owl or blows up a doritos bag. Recommend this class.

He has been my advisor through the years and I have had him for numerous classes. Trust me when I say, you will be glad you took him. He is not over demanding, very fair, very helpful, and very very enthusiastic about the subjects he teachers. One of my favorite and most memorable teachers Ive had in my life.
