Comment:

I agree with many of his philosophies as far as choral practice is concerned, but needs to work on clarity when simple questions are asked. There are times when he switches subjects, or goes off on tangents, and it isn't even relevant to the lesson that were being taught. All in all, a selfless professor and a good man.

I've actually never been in any of his college classes, but he was my choir director for all three years of middle school and all four years of high school. He is an absolutly amazing teacher and I was sad to see him leave our school.

Dr. Sinclair has been allowed to skate through VCM for too long without being properly evaluated. He is immature as a musician & as an ensemble director & fails to bring the choirs up to the level that they ought to be at in college. Instead, he flakes out at every turn & blames the students - his courses are all the same: he doesn't know anything.

Dr. Sinclair used to be my favorite teacher because I enjoyed choir and singers with him. After having Middle School Methods and K-5 Methods with him, though, I am saddened. He only lectures, and we don't get that "hands on" experience. Plus, it seems that he regurgitates the same thing in all of his non-chorus classes. :(

Dr. Sinclair is a teacher you can learn from. Mot just his musical skills, but his people skills. His expressive conducting is wonderful. His class taught me the fine points of conducting all of which I use to this day. I appreciate his wisdom and his caring nature.
