Dr.Roberts can seem a bit intimidating at first & he has high expectations for respect and attendance, but over the semester he became very personable and has a sense of humor that, while nerdy, makes class more enjoyable! Tests and quizzes are not difficult as long as you attend class and study what he has talked about in class.Loved this class!

Professor Roberts is a cool person but he can be very moody at times and his test on plants are the hardest ones. He is very particular about what he wants you to write and this class requires a lot of studying.He can sometimes get angry if you dont call him Dr.Roberts. I wouldnt take him if you dont like to study and he wouldnt be my first choice.

Loved this professor and the way he taught this class. Hes a very nice guy and is VERY helpful, hes even pretty funny. Im very shy, but im never afraid to ask him a question. He explains things very well and gives great examples also. Exams are kind of hard, but if you study you will be fine. I would greatly recommend him for bio 208.

Awesome professor, really knows his stuff and one can learn ALOT from him. He doesn't take any bs, so don't try it. Alittle hint to his tests... he asks questions on alot of stuff he just mentions in class and that aren't on the powerpoint, but he does give you all the powerpoints so print em out and take side notes...

Nice guy, often pretty funny. However, he can be rude, belittling, and sometimes just mean. Tests are unnecessarily difficult; he does not seem to test your knowledge of the material, and often test questions are on material he forgot to cover! I would not recommend this professor to anyone, even students with a good grasp on biological concepts.

Nice guy. He likes to joke around and always have some stories to tell. His exams are such a pain .. worded in a tricky way. He is an extremely picky grader. Too much work for a 3-credit class ! I needed to work my a** off to pull off with a satisfactory grade.

very nice guy, hard class but you will definately learn biodiversity...if you try!! tests are hard but fair, need to study! deducts points for small things but makes you aware before the due date what those small things might be. overall a great class, learned a lot!!

agreed. HORRIBLE DO NOT TAKE! Grades exams unfairly, takes attendance (which I recommend), expects many group activities, heavily favors afternoon class (don't take him at 8 am), when you ask questions he responds with a smart remark and makes you feel belittled, shows attitude. study out of the book and on class notes and still only expect a C

It does not matter how well you understand the material if you do not understand exactly how he wants the test worded YOU WILL NOT GET AN A. some people should have never received a teaching degree this guy is the worst.

I feel exactly the same way!!!! He is a ridiculous teacher DO NOT TAKE HIM if you are at all concerned with your GPA. Some exam ?s arent in the book or lecture .Class qnd lecture are interesting but he grades like a NAZI, I studied read the text did outside research even and still got a high C on my exam and I have a 4.0!

he is just the worse, i hated coming to this class he didnt know how to convey the information or make it sound interesting. he crammed close to exams and exams had nothing to do with lecture material and were confusing. not very approachable or understanding. please take someone else and if you can avoid this class even better

He is not a very good teacher. Personally I think he is bipolar. His exams are ridiculous and his lectures are not very clear. He holds study groups every sunday before an exam, but they dont help because he has his LA's conducting it and they dont no what their talking about. I do NOT recommend this teacher to anyone!
