MR. MANNHEIMER was brash, rude, abrasive, impolite and offensive during the time I took his class. He made (girls mostly) cry and run out during painting critiques. He bullied me for 2 years. He screamed at me at my friends' party. I quit Herron because of him, transferred to IU Bloomington. The worst.

Steve Mannnhimer is my favorite professor. He said, "Listen to me now; hear me later." I hear him in my head when I paint. He taught me to think. A compliment from him is priceless. Thanks, Mr. Mannheimer. Diana (Griffin) Owen, Class of Herron '83.

I simply cannot say enough about how horrible my experience was with this guy. The classes are terrible (I literally used almost every one of them to do homework), his assignments are non-stop busy work, and he is an art prof, NOT a new media guy. Had trouble opening his email. On the plus, he really is a nice guy, just not a good prof.

He teaches powerpoint in a photoshop class and is completely biased. He rarely teaches about photoshop and make you do useless blog posts. He is difficult to understand and it is only possible to get an A unless you kiss his butt or you just SOMEHOW know what he is talking about. His class is a waste of time.

I'm in his class right now and the other comments are all true. He's an art professor who teaches the class like I would an 8th grade art class. Nothing but busy work with an entire semester-long project that's compiling busy work (and I'm not exaggerating!) Haven't learned a thing, and the only plus I can give is its already shown to be an easy A.

this guy will talk your ear off about what it's like in industry but he hasn't a clue. he has an opinion on everything but its just based on what was at the bottom of his teacup that morning. perfectly harmless as long as he's not grading your work. otherwise he fixates on some random point. you'll do fine as long as you are a massive suck up.

Steve is probably the worst instructor that the IUPUI system has to offer. He cannot be fired because he has a tenured position. His background is not in the area in which he teaches, so his knowledge and experience is rather limited.
