Honestly they say that this class is easy but I though it was only okay the professor is very serious about reading the textbooks and that what most of the lecture is surrounded. Over the course of the semester you have to write an 8-10 page paper and hand it in before the last day of class. Would not recommend taking if you want an easy course.

VERY picky with wording when it comes to the concert paper which a major part of your grade. 5 quizzes and a final with each test being harder with really specific questions and more short answers. Anything that comes out of his mouth, or any music he plays, just assume it will be on the test. I would not recommend this strict guy to anybody.

this professor gives off the impression that he wants to punish you for thinking this would be an easy class. The professor teaches about music that I almost guarantee that you will not like. He does offer extra help which is nice. But you can tell he is full of himself with the way he closes his eyes to talk to you

Oh Allen. He's a great guy who loves music and it definitely shows. Sometimes he can lose his cool if you don't get the answer right away but his music theory class is pretty chill.

Class is not an easy elective, but I enjoyed it! Professor lays out EVERYTHING you need to know in class for quizzes. Take notes and study and you will do well. Professor also is willing to help if you e-mail him. Concert report was difficult, but he DOES have a list of SEVERAL options! I loved this class. I truly appreciate art music now!

DO NOT take this class. The concert report is worth a lot on your grade. It's unfair because there are little to no free concerts in the area. I am not from NJ. I am unfamiliar with the state and where I'm from, concert tickets are VERY expensive. He threatened to give us a pop quiz out of anger because we didn't know what his songs were about.

He moves too fast and is really confusing. He doesn't give enough time to take the hard quizzes he gives so you feel rushed. The concert report is absolutely not okay, and he expects too much from his students. However, he is an amazing pianist.I watch/listen to him play all day. You could tell he really loves music. However DO NOT take the class.

His tests are way WAY too hard. We need to see an opera or classical concert outside of class using our own money and transportation for a concert report which is ridiculous. He will call on you in class knowing you don't know the answer. He's a nice guy, I just don't recommend this class. He's a good choir teacher though :)

best teacher i ever had. hes a really fun teacher. yes, you have to study for his tests (ONLY 2 TESTS TOTAL) or they would be very hard. but if you actually study it will be relatively easy. the books are only used for homework and there will never be anything on the test from the book that wasn't covered in class. takes notes and you'll be fine.

Awesome class that's only offered every 2 years, I couldn't read music b4 starting and now it's like I've been taking music lessons for years. Great teacher who'll give you extra help but you have to be motivated to learn.
