April was great! She wants all her students to pass and will give you honest feedback in order to be successful. If you put in the effort and take feedback into consideration, you'll pass no problem.

She is a really good teacher. She genuinely wants you to do well but she grades very harshly. Beware of that. But if you want to become a better writer, she is the professor for you.

Be ready to spend more time on your essays. Compared to my friends' Workload instructors, April might not be the nicest grader but a tough grader. However, she really wants her students to pass it. The strategies she used in her class were really helpful for improving writing skills even if I felt much pressure while taking her class.

The class was quite challenging. However, April is a very responsible professor and she want everyone pass the class. If you try your best and work hard on every single paper, this class is still doable.

She does theses in class quizzes at the beginning of the class. One time I was 3 minutes late to class, and she had already told everyone what the first three questions were. I asked her if she could tell me what the questions were but she refused to tell me. I ended up getting no points from the quiz. Very anal about being late and late work.

April's class is amusing. She makes class worth going to. She grades toughly but she helps you do prepare for the final. Getting her input on drafts is very helpful. She gives hw to help balance against essay grades. I would take her again.

I learned a lot from Professor Boyd, but she was nothing less than challenging. Every single grade for an in-class or out-class essay is earned. She prepares you well for the end of the quarter essay. Overall, she's a great teacher.

April is definitely a tough grader, but I won't deny that her toughness improved my writing significantly. She has a lot of assignments (due pretty much every class) and assigned readings, but they're doable and not usually long! She's super funny and encourages discussion. Essentially, take April if you're ready for lots of writing!

She is a very interesting person and always make the two hour class engaged. BUT she is SOOOO hard...nobody gets A or B in any of the essays. Yes the class is not so important so that's why she is being very harsh, but her grades always made me question myself whether I took English in high school or not. If you don't mind getting C, take her.

Even though this class was workload, it taught me A LOT towards writing. All you need is a C in the class, NOT on the final, to pass. C- is considered failing. Boyd always wants her students to do well and pass, and she makes sure of it! One warning: the way Boyd grades is very harsh...

April was very knowledgable in helping the class write effectively. The work we did for the class was relevant, but sometimes could be classified as busy work (grammar assignments etc). The only thing that bothered me about this class was that my grades barely improved. I listened to her advice and still earned low B's and C's on every essay.

grades your essays really harshly, but really wants everyone to pass the class. she tries to entertain the class with jokes in the 2 hour long class. as long as you get a C it's a pass, so it's ok.
