Show up to class! Thats the most important advice I can give. Its pretty easy to pass the class. The tests were just multiple choice questions so yeah, you had about 50% of being right if you studied and paid attention.

I have only taken her for an online class but she was very thorough in explaining everything she wanted, listed out due dates each week, and was always willing to answer questions. She's very fair. There is a lot of work but if you do the assigned reading and other assignments it won't be too hard.

Honestly, Barbara Barnhart is the worst bio professor I've had here (now in my third year). I learned nothing from her class. Tests were not useful, all she worried about was fitting in as much information as possible onto a bunch of slides. Just ONE of her tests covers an entire semester of information in another class. Don't take her.

Mrs. Barnhart is a tough professor, but she pushes you to do your best. Having her my first semester of college was very challenging, but I appreciate that more now. She is willing to help you if you reach out for the help. Be prepared to study hard and you can do it!

She really cares for her students, but that doesn't mean that she is easy. because she's not. She expects you to work and study and earn your grade. Overall her lectures and powerpoint slides and outlines are very clear and very helpful. Use masting biology, it will be your best friend to prep you for your exam and quizes!!!

Definitely take Barnhart. It may be a challenge but if you study you will do fine. You learn a lot more than the other students in other classes. STUDY OFF OF MASTERING BIOLOGY. Almost every single question comes from the cumulative tests on there. She is a great teacher, but she has a bit of an ego. She also gives you a study guide for every exam.

Just took the final yesterday and I started studying weeks ago. Had an A all semester and my exam average was an -A. The final was so difficult, got a 69/100, a D+. The class average was a 70/100. My grade dropped from an A to a B all because of one exam, and she doesn't care. Do not waste your time taking Barnhart, she is horrible.

I'm not sure why everyone on here loves her, she's a horrible professor. Talks way too fast, hardest grader ever, and only cares about fitting in as many chapters as possible, not if the students actually understand the material. DO NOT TAKE HER! Last week she went through a 17 page word document in 15 minutes because she was in a rush.. Horrible

Professor Barnhart is the BEST Bio professor hands down, take her if you can. You have to study, but the questions come from the notes and Mastering Bio. Her final is said to be hard, but each question came from Mastering Biology.

Such a good teacher if YOU'RE willing to work for it. Not an easy class, but she really cares for her students. I love her and will take her any chance I have. A lot of her tests are note-based and from a Mastering Bio which you have to purchase at the beginning of the year. Take advantage of her extra credit opportunities!!

She is a GEM. She explains the material so precisely, she truly has a gift for teaching. You do need to study, and her exams are directly from lecture notes and Mastering Bio. She can be serious, but equally laid back and fun in class. Def one of my favorite professors, and so far the one I am most impressed with.

She talks VERY FAST and does not like to repeat things. She helps if you ask. If some students understands the information she goes with them and the rest can kind of get lost in the sauce. If you are a good note taker you will be fine if not I do not recommend her.
