Hardest GEC I have ever taken. The exams were extremely difficult and included examples we never went over in class. He wasn't willing to help students and the grading was ridiculously subjective. 2 TAs and grading was different for each. I don't recommend this class to anyone who cares even the tiniest bit about their GPA.

Way too hard for a GEC. Class was interesting but didn't really seem to prepare me for exams. I studied but scored much lower than I normally do.

One of the worst professors I have ever had. The exams are extremely hard, being filled with unfamiliar material. I studied the notes and textbook and still failed every exam, which he had to curve dramatically. He knows the material, but has trouble teaching it. It's definitely a difficult class for a GEC.

Reallt friendly guy. Knows his stuff really well. Kind of arrogant, but overall I enjoyed this class as it was very relaxed. And explored great ideas. I think Dai was the perfect 101 teacher. Exams are super hard though.

Interesting class and a generally interested teacher are a good thing to have. Things were explained, discussion in class was made, and the teacher listened to everyone.

His knowledge of the material and fluidness with its recitation will go unmatched by any graduate student I will ever meet. He will make a wonderful professor one day. Professional, humorous, but not for every one. Can be tough, but worth a shot for any ambitious Ohio State student.

What an excellent professor! Dai's intimate knowledge of the subject allows for verbal jousting thoroughly injected with humor and realism. Philosophy is considered inherently impenetrable, arduous and incomprehensibly verbose.. Dai possesses an innate succinctness that cuts through the layers of frustration experienced by many students.

His class is challenging, but not unfairly so. He is willing to spend time helping you if you ask. He also did a nice job keeping his own opinion out of it, it was hard to tell what he actually agreed with because he represented different views fairly. Nice guy.

This was probably one of the most difficult profs I have ever had. He would ask you to state your opinion clearly in a paper, only to shoot it down and continuously criticize... there is no pleasing him...

i have no idea where anyone is coming from with all the talk of him being biased. i was surprised by how unbiased he was. class is not mandatory but it really helps with the papers. i kind of even enjoyed the class. just lecturing and discussions the whole time and the material is interesting. plus he's a great guy and not bad to look at either.

The reading material and discussion of it are interesting. I think the class could have stood to have a little change in pace. It was very nice not being obligated to attend every class or to participate. Update: I'm not sure why I gave this a 4 easiness. He is a pretty tough grader.
