I LOVE THIS GUY! He's the cutest old man ever. You can actually learn a lot from him and he really tires to help you out. I don't like history and I loved him. He has discussion based lectures and gives out two 6 page papers, a mid-term and a final with "map quizzes" from middle school. He's awesome and a great teacher to have for Western Civ.

Good prof- tends to get on tangents and expect you to still understand what he lectured about that day.

Great teacher. Really cares about students and getting them the help/work/grade that they need. Made class fun and interesting. Great teacher if you want to learn and get a good grade.

Worst teacher ever, old and senile. Talks about nothing during class and writes in chicken scratch. Does not follow the syllabus or even touch on the readings. Does not give review guides or pool of terms for studying and asks obscure questions. Avoid at all costs. If you get him, good luck

Awesome guy if you aren't aren't a complete tool bag. Comes off as a tough grader, but in the end, if you just put in the effort, will get an A.

I was kind of bummed about not getting an A in his class because I had a B and I got an A on the final. He's a pretty fair grader on papers, the only thing that will give you a problem is the midterm. Otherwise, he's pretty interesting, and if you stay awake, you can learn something.

Masterson is the man! His subtle dry humor is what drives the class. He will lull you to sleep, no matter who you are, but Western Civ II is cake if you get this guy. Two interesting, easy papers, mid-term was painless, take home final exam. He likes Latin America, so pay attention to those areas and you'll be fine.

Once you get to appreciate is dry and subtle humor you'll definitely start to enjoy his class more. very helpful in ei and answering questions. the tonal quality of his voice might lull some people to sleep, but don't necessarily confuse that with boringness. i thought he was really interesting.

No Good. Avoid him if you are not a history major. If you get him, find a way to bring it upon yourself to kiss butt, or talk alot in class (thats the only way to do well). Lazy boring history prof.

I really didn't think he was that bad. I liked the projects in the class and he gave us the midterm questions beforehand. He's probably best if you already like history.

He is a bit boring, but insightful. HH365 should really be called pre-modern Latin America. The course is less history, more anthropology. He can put people to sleep, but if you have some cafine in you, some of what he says is actually interesting.

Never take this professor or this class. By far the worst at the Academy. Unless you are brain dead to begin with, avoid getting Masterson at all costs!!!

A really smart guy who really gets off on tangents and repeats himself a lot. Isn't very nitpicky about papers though; our end of semester one was done in groups!
