TAKE THIS CLASS! Cowper is the best professor I've ever had. He made me love writing when initially I hated it. Encouraged participation and very lax on attendance (he understand that life gets in the way). Not tech savvy but such a cool view on life and he's chill. Highly recommend :)

Comment:

Professor Cowper is the best english teacher that I've ever had because he is not like any other english teacher that I've ever had. He explains why most people hate to write essays then shows you how he wants them to be done. AND you can write your essays on anythying you want.

If you get easily offended you might not want him as a teacher, but he is a professor who likes to challenge the way you think. He is always willing to help you within and outside of class. I came into English just wanting to skate by, but instead this easily became one of my favorite classes that I became heavily invested in.

Professor Cowper is easily the best professor I've ever had. His lectures are always interesting and funny, and he gives great feedback, not only that but he's very accessible outside of class. I've taken English 100 and a creative writing class and loved both. He is definitely an inspirational and caring professor, with a unique style of teaching

Definitely would not take this professor again. Ever. This is barely an english class, more of an abnormal philosophy class, in addition to giving too much detail into sigmund freud. He also disclosed too much about how messed up his childhood was... we don't need to know these things - I'm just trying to write an essay.

I started out taking this class because I had to for credit and ended up loving this class. He is not like other English professors. You are graded by the essays that you turn in and the subjects are very open. He does talk about his life and you will really see why he is the way it is. very interesting. Took because easy reviews , but really enjoy

Hes not your average English teacher. Hes allows the students to guide the class and craves more creative thinking. He lets the students decide how many classes you can miss and is lenient with grades. TALK TALK TALK. Make yourself known with your opinion and voice. He will definitely make a difference in your life if you keep an open mind.

Cowper's class is one of those that you will absolutely love or completely hate. He is super inspirational but also kind of a jerk at the same time and he admits it. His lectures are full of interesting ideas on how the world works and he relates them all back to writing. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants a change of pace.

Professor Cowpers class is different from any other English class. Your grade is based only off of papers and the final. We wrote 5 papers and hes a pretty easy grader. Homework is optional. Class-time is spent on lectures on random things and sometimes we get to choose what we do. Its a chill class but you only get a certain amount of absences

Cowper is one of the best English teachers I've ever had. His lectures really get you to think. For the homework, reading is assigned but is not mandatory. Just turn in your papers on time and you'll get a good grade.

David is a great professor! While it was a challenging class, I had tons of fun and felt inspired to write and learn. He does tend to ramble especially about his life, but it is all in good fun. Make sure to send in your papers early, he will review them just to be nice! Overall really great professor! Always around to talk and read papers.

Lectures are interesting. The essay topics are broad and you can seek him out for outstanding advice - made me a much better writer. The only downside is that Cowper is clearly a narcissist and will spend lots of lecture time droning on about his failures and how it was never his fault. It can be draining because we are students, not his therapist

Cowper is unorthodox yet inspirational. I wish more professors taught the way he taught. He wants you to be confused. There are those students who are systematic with the way they get their A's. Essays look like: topic sentence, concrete fact, commentary.. etc. You will actually use your noggin while writing your essays.

I wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone. I learned absolutely nothing from listening to his anti-religion rants, or his lectures about relating to everything but English. Worst Professor Ive ever had.

Professor Cowper was amazing. He thinks just like I do and I looked forward to his class each week. He is very chill and laid back but he is an awesome Professor. Palomar could use more Professors like him. I liked his lectures, he was funny and really liked by the students. I learned so much in his class and now I will do great in Eng. 202

Interesting and insightful instructor that encourages objectivity and creativity. Encourages students to see and think deeper than the surface and challenge the status quo.
