Comment:
The review before this one is accurate. He is super unclear in both his lecturing and grading. Although he's a good man at heart, he makes lessons confusing that don't need to be. I had to learn his course completely on my own and started doing better in the class when I stopped going to class and getting confused by his lectures.

Comment:
Professor Lantz confuses himself while lecturing. He makes elaborate slideshows and then reads straight off them. Doesn't define any terms and makes mistakes when speaking which makes the lecture even worse. When he does try to write on the board, he makes so many mistakes and a simple problem ends up taking way longer than it should.

Comment:
Lantz was not any easy professor to understand by any means. I hadn't taken a real math class for a few years when I decided to take Calc 1, but he saw that I was really making an effort (i.e. making extra office hours, never missed a class, did all my hw) and he passed me even though I didn't pass any of the tests

clearly a smart guy, but confusing as hell trying to explain whatever he knows. exams are a joke, look at the book and his practice exams for an hour before the test and you get an A.

Comment:
Lantz's tests are pretty easy, but his class can be incredibly boring. He covers the material in the bookm, but confuses himself trying to explain it. I eventually stopped going to class and taught myself out of the book

Comment:
Stats with Lantz isn't too bad. He knows what he is doing, but is not very good at explaining to the class. Lectures are super boring and unhelpful as is the textbook. You show up for tests having no idea what is going to be on them. Reading the articles is easy exam points, everything else is a toss up. Not too hard, but also not very clear.

Not a great teacher but not terrible. The flaw was more in the class than the teacher. He's well intentioned but he gets sidetracked easily, and doesn't do a good job explaining anything or judging the prior knowledge of his students, which was especially problematic for a class of all freshmen.

Comment:
Lantz is a nice guy and kinda goofy, but he's a pretty horrible lecturer. I got absolutely nothing out of going to class.. he just wrote too much up on the board and made too many mistakes in his own work to really follow. He's a lot easier than the other teachers for abstract though. Homework counts and tests are untimed and extremely fair.

He is a very nice guy, but his lectures are VERY confusing. I often relied on the textbook. He is always in his office in the afternoon for more help.

I have never had a worse professor. Impossible to understand. COnfusing lectures. Talks to himself. Does not realize how bad he is. And his tests are nothing like the work. I would never wish my worst enemy to take linear albegra with this man. HE IS HORRIBLE.

Worthless... A stupid class that is presented in a middle school manner. Extremely frustrating that you have to do such dumb assignments, but really easy none the less.

Kind of ambiguous, but definately willing to give extra help. Really nice guy who tries to liven up the class with his wierd sense of humor. Show up to class and do the homework and you'll do fine.

I heard this class would be easy before I took it, but I couldn't imagine it would be this easy...you could never go to class and just read the book before the test and get an A. Not to mention Lantz is a great guy and cares a lot about his students. A must take.

Not too bad for Calc II. Class was pretty boring, but the tests (3 plus a final) weren't too bad, and he graded them pretty leniently.
