Wow. Eli is my favorite human being ever. He is extremely kind and willing to help you with anything you need. He truly cares about each and every one of his students. He pushes you beyond your academic boundaries.

This is my favorite professor I've ever taken. I love his class so much, that I'm taking another one of his classes next semester, and it isn't even part of my major! He's an inspiring figure in the field of education, and I respect his teaching style so much. This is not a conventional English class; he will open your mind and impact your life.

Eli is one of the most humane, funny, kind professors I've ever encountered--not to mention just really smart. If you have a chance to take one of his courses, do! Be ready to write a lot and to share and discuss in class. His classes are warm and open, rigorous and fun!

Eli is absolutely one of the best professors at Temple. Sure, he is a somewhat demanding of his students, but that is because he cares so much about them. He wants everyone to succeed and learn and participate and is so willing to help and facilitate. Promotes one of the best classroom atmospheres. Interesting discussions, unique approaches,GREAT!

I must admit, this class was hard to get through. The unexpected tutoring was a pain. Keep in mind, this IS a service learning course! We didn't know that. Eli is very passionate about his subject and very helpful. I loved having him this semester and I got a lot out of the course. Take him! He is amazing.

I absolutely loved Eli's class. I wouldn't even really read the material all the time, but just the class discussions seemed enough to understand what he wanted us to get out of the course. I loved the open forum feeling. I really hope I have the opportunity to take a class again even tho the tutoring could be a pain sometimes.

I just read the first comment and I believe that anyone who doesn't enjoy this class must not have a good appreciation for what it's trying to accomplish. Eli is a wonderful and passionate teacher & altough his class may be slightly unorganized he only changes it to accomadate his students. The extra tutoring has also been a great experience :)

Beware this class. Eli's nice, but the class is badly organized/difficult. BORING, DRY and WORTHLESS, despite all the class readings about engaging students in material. Requires 40 hours of outside tutoring. In class there's little interesting discussion. Uses 'fishbowls' -- only a few students can speak while the rest must listen/watch. TERRIBLE!

Fantastic teacher with a great sense of humor. His class wasn't a drag like I thought it would be. He had great conversations and bends over backwards to help his students. He is interested in your learning experience and what you get out of his class. I hope to have him as a teacher again.

Eli is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's very interested in his helping his students and pushing them to try their hardest. He's very friendly and easy to relate to.
