Comment:

Dr. Cherem was one of my favorites back in the early 1980s when I was in my MS program. Years later I see him as one of the best interpreters anywhere. I did not want ease but mastery, this was the professor for that. The classes changed - I was in all the Heritage Interpretation classes.

He is a horrible teacher!! I do not recommend this class to anyone, especially if you are not good at geography. He is super quiet and really boring, it was very hard to pay attention. He rarely wrote things on the board and you never knew what the tests were on. When I asked for help in his office hours, he said he didn't have time. Don't take!!

An interestingly, boring class. Dr. Cherem is a brilliant man and knows what he is talking about... most of the time. Some of the things he said I didn't quite agree with. Homework would've been better, as if you fail even one test, your grade is basically ruined. Also, he is very QUIET, so pay attention!

Dr. Cherem may not be the best lecturer but he gets the point across. His assignments can be hard to understand (what he wants), but they are not difficult. As long as you show him respect, you will have a good time in his class.

I had to withdraw. I am a science major and I was looking forward to taking this class. Place locations was great the exams were ridiculous. The entire grade is based off of exams...if you do bad on 1 your done...which was my case...place I wasn't learning anything...This is my major and I paid for this I want to learn not sleep.

OMG Never take this class on friday. He's an ok techer but not for 3 hours. I've never had to do a presentation in geography before that's pointless but I guess some of the classes are interesting

Easy class but very boring. There are about 5 tests all together, one small presentation and then the final. All the test are only 20 questions. The tests are exactly what he says in his lectures. So be there, take notes, fall asleep occasionally and you will pass.

He is a good professor his lectures are very interesting but his test are extremely hard. The questions on the test seem way different then what he covered in his lectures. I spent hours studying and I ended up getting a C in the class.

Condescending. Believes everyone in the class is a WASP and can only understand concepts if they are directly related to Christianity (e.g. he actually said "buddha was actually much like Christ!") Didn't need to use the book once. Very boring. tests multiple choice, but questions are trivial.

He's a little intense, but as long as you're in class and manage to pay attention (Red Bull might help...) you'll do fine on the exams. You can tell he really has a passion for what he teaches, and a real interest in what's going on in the world. DON'T BUY THE BOOK, you will never open it and it's not mandatory.

This guy will help you catch up on your sleep! WOW so bored. Everything is said to be based on lect. but you'll find that his lecture in incredibly hard to follow. Place locations are a breeze, but multiple choice Q&A will get you every exam. He never even mentions the $200 text you buy and is a complete monotone. Save yourself the work, GET OUT
