Comment:

The best professor at Brockport. Not only intelligent, but effective at teaching the content. Uses creative methods of teaching that helps students actually retain information. Her best quality however is teaching stuff that can be applied to the outside world. Classes with her make me less upset to pay an ungodly amount of money for college.

She needs a hall of fame trophy that says BEST PROFESSOR EVER.. it is impossible to be a better Professor than her. She is great at what she does and whatever grade you want you can get it. I took every class she offers and now I just visit her office because she is someone you need in College.

Professor Cheves is a unique professor. Her conflict management class is set up in a way that you learn about conflict management techniques in class and then at the end of class (as well as the end of the semester), you get to implement these techniques. She actually cares, I'd suggest going to her office hours you'll learn a lot about yourself.

Fun class. learn how to be a good presenter and calm your nerves. gives feedback and makes fun class fun and easy to come to. you have to do some work and do a few speeches, but it is easy and worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheves' sense of humor is refreshing, as is her kind and caring nature. Her Interpersonal Communication course was the determining factor in my decision to declare Communication Studies as my major, after which I proceeded to take every single course she taught at Brockport including my personal favorite, Conflict Management. Outstanding Professor!

You need to read to participate in class, but you can get away with not reading. Not a lot of homework. There aren't quizzes or tests. She'll help you with speeches if you want it. Really try your best and you should get a good grade.

She is an exceptional educator and extraordinary human being. When she walks in the door, everybody knows it's time to learn. She leads conversations in such a way that leave people feeling a sensation of discovery. She try to get all involved to the point where you get to know everyone in the class. Hands down, the best educator I've ever had.

I took Public Speaking with Prof. Cheves and in the end really learned a lot. She helped me gain confidence and become a better speaker overall, and I'm normally a nervous wreck on display in front of people. Prof. Cheves is very supportive and really believes in her students abilities. I would recommend not being afraid to participate.

Cheves is a great professor. Had her for interpersonal too. Everyone should be required to take this class.. helps with those annoying group projects and working with others. Her knowledge is extensive and she uses examples from her own life to relate to class. Group project, analysis paper, and a lot of group work. Won't want to miss class.

If you want to take a fun class that's easy but you still learn a lot, take interpersonal with her. She's so funny and is so relatable. She has me laughing all class. If you don't do good its because you cant read or write. Shes by far one of the best I've ever had. Such a fun class and professor! Highly recommend!

Great Professor. I would never suggest taking a night class in college but she let's you out early often and if not, its fun to sit through. We talk about media/pop culture. The text is actually fun to read it talks about real life situations/issues. Just talk a little, read & you'll do well on the quizzes. One paper about relationships, easy!

Professor Cheves is an amazing professor. I took interpersonal communications with her as a night class, and it went by so quickly. Her class is really fun and interesting. She makes jokes with the class. I highly, highly recommend this class to everyone!

This is the best teacher ever, I had her for a three hour night class and she made it fly. She is really funny and likes what she does. There wasn't any quizzes or tests but we had homework after every class, a big paper at the end, and a 40-65 min group presentation. Overall, I enjoyed the class.

Prof. Cheves makes this class interesting and because of her I took more of an interest in the class. I didn't do great on the test and even missed and assignment and still got a 'B' in the class. Expect to do work though, it's not an easy A. Read all the material she gives you, and print the notes out online.

i've taken cmc 273 and cmc 479 with ms. cheves and loved both classes because of her. she's got an awesome personality, was never boring, and even though i did horrible on prob every test, got an a- in both classes. by far my favorite com. professor
