Comment:
Dr. Rohloff is a knowledgeable teacher but is extremely petty in her grading. She takes off for the smallest errors, which can damage an otherwise good paper. Class is made up of 4 major papers and TONS of homework. Also, do not show up late to class because she will take off from overall letter grade if you have too many (petty).

Don't take this class if you are looking for a normal English 2000 class. She grades way too hard for this level. It is actually appaling. It consists of 4 main papers and prewriting work. The workload is standard but, she thrives on making the course difficult. Everyone who gave a good review is a brown noser dont listen.

Very clear on what she expects. Not a tough grader. She provides example essays which help a lot. As long as you do everything required in her rubric for every paper, you'll get an A. Don't be afraid to ask questions, she will ALWAYS point you in the right direction. Attendance is mandatory & pay attention to deadlines. Highly recommend!

The "lecture" part of her online course was nonexistent. All the learning was done through reading and stupidly long writing assignments. The topics and learning goals were unclear, the grading was insanely heavy, and feedback? What feedback? Get ready for the most impersonal game of Russian roulette you've ever played if you choose this course.

Dr. Rohloff is an amazing professor!! She is very fun, cares for her students, and gives great feedback on essays. She is rather strict though. You must turn in assignments on time, never skip class, and always stay ahead of the curve. However, if you can manage that, she is a pleasure to have as a professor. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Rohloff is incredibly opinionated. She is also a very tough grader and doesn't justify the grade she gives. She also does not round grades. She is pretty funny and always let class out early though.

This class is a joke and this professor is even more of a joke. She belittles everyone almost every class, grades extremely harshly and assigns more homework than a 4000 level class. Oh yeah, this is ENGLISH 2000 by the way. Don't take this class unless you want to be graded by a nazi, belittled in every aspect, and have no life. Worst teacher ever

Although she is helpful and pretty passionate about english which is good, she is a TOUGH grader. She grades the first paper really hard and it can bring your grade down a lot. Its possible to get an A but you have to go to every single class and she assigns like 4 homework assignments every night so if thats not your thing, pick someone else

She is a dictator in class and a half way decent person in office hours. Expect to have something due at the beginning of EVERY class. Personally I disliked her but if you do your work and are willing to worry more about this class than your major specific classes you'll get within the A-B range

Dr. Rohloff is amazing! She can be intimidating at times but she has a particular humor that makes class interesting. Go to her office hours and have her look over your work! She's definitely willing to help her students and wants you to do well! Attend class, do the homework, put thought and effort into your essays and you'll do fine!

Rohloff is a great teacher, because she is very concise and clear. She gives you a packet for each unit w all instructions, information, examples and everything you need for the next paper. You can never really say you don't understand. She is a very nit-picky grader and grades holistically. So she reads your paper, gives you a grade minus errors

Participation is a must in this class. Can be a rather hard grader, but she'll read your thesis and other paper parts if you visit her. Quizzes everyday on required reading, so be prepared to work. Lots of dialogue in class, so it depends on what type of teaching style you prefer. Jazz & Lit. was a pretty good course overall.

Rohloff's teaching style can only be described as convoluted. I spent a semester listening to this lady whimsically belittle everyone. I think something is genuinely wrong with her. Avoid at all cost.

Rohloff was such an incredible professor. I had her for her Jazz & Literature class, and I highly recommend it. We read short stories and biographies and her class was organized by different periods of music. By far the most interesting class I've taken at LSU.

Her grading is intense. I've always considered myself a good writer. I've won essay competitions, acquired scholarships via writing, etc. She gave me a 67 on the first paper (which I had my advisor, a philosophy guru, proofread). She gave me a 0 on a paper because i turned it in late BECAUSE I HAD THE FLU!! i showed her my doctors note. didn't care

She's a nice lady and is enthusiastic about the subject. She grades pretty tough for the first couple of papers but gives you a break towards the end if you show her effort. Do not take this class if you don't want 1 or 2 things due every class. Otherwise, the class isn't too tough if you turn in all of your work, you should get an A or B.
