Comment:
Very rude to students--wastes class time confronting students who are caught texting and reads their texts aloud. Half of the material is interesting, the other half is stuff you can learn from watching criminal minds. No lectures online and no textbook which is unhelpful and dumb. She needs to teach high school not college.

Her class and material are very interesting as she engages her students with stories. There is no textbook so take notes everyday. There are very few assignments. You have to take the tests on the day scheduled no matter what and the the grades are not scaled or rounded at all.

No textbook so be sure to go to class (which isn't hard because her lectures are so engaging and interesting). There are 2 papers (about 3 pages each), a midterm (25 questions), and a final (25 questions). She truly cares about her students and her stories make the material SO easy to learn. Don't graduate from GW w/o taking one of her classes!

AMAZING CLASS. She's so sweet and helpful. This class was by far the most interesting one I've taken at GW. No textbook required, all notes and material for exams/papers are from lectures, but it never once occurred to me skip this class. I made sure I never did. The subject was so interesting and she showed relevant documentaries...awesome class.

AMAZING professor, the class was made up of a midterm and non-cumulative final, as well as 2 writing assignments that required creative thinking and application of the concepts we were taught. She is such a sweet lady and really loves her students just make sure you go to class b/c everything comes from the (super interesting) lectures.

Great professor, great class. Requires almost no work, other than studying for midterm&final, and writing two essays throughout the semester. You should go to class cause there's no textbook, but she makes it so simple and interesting that you'll want to go. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend this class.

Prof Vajda is awesome but she's def changed up the crime and violence class this semester. 2 test (25 questions each which you HAVE to study for) and 2 papers which werent bad at all. I dont think shes as easy as she used to be, but the class is AMAZING and trust me youll want to go.

Very rude to students, wants papers written her way, and only her way which is why 90% of our class failed the first paper. The tests come from lecture and book, and aren't too hard. She uses examples from her life WAY to often, and the lectures just go on and on when the information she is telling us could have been taught to us in 15 minutes.

Something has happened with this professor. After reading these positive reviews I must say that she is the most unprofessional, disrespectful professor I have ever had. Completely unapproachable. Failed our entire class on a paper.

There is no assigned textbook or other readings for this class. It is solely based on the professor's lectures and videos watched in class. She is very clear, very funny and makes class enjoyable. You really get to learn about the issues involved in this area of psych.

Vajda is great! Her exams are very easy, and her lectures are entertaining. All you have to do to get an A is to go to class, copy the notes that she projects on the board, and listen to her tell funny (relevant) stories that help you remember the material. Before every exam, I took about 20 minutes to read over my notes and I got As on all of 'em

I took this class because everyone says such good things about Vajda. Yes, the class was easy and almost everyone gets A's, but she's not challenging at all and she attempts to clarify concepts using anecdotes from her own life far too often. It gets old fast. I also didn't appreciate how much she curses.

Great professor! Absolutely loved her. She can be hilarious--she keeps students interested, the class goes by fast. If you go to class and take notes you'll do great. She doesn't put on material she didn't discuss. Actually wants students to do well unlike many other professors.

The best professor ever! I loved her class! The material is very interesting and she always has funny stories to accompany the topics with. I have no idea why some are saying she's biased/feminist because she's not. She does not play "favorites" & her class is impossible to fail so for all you losers who didn't go to class, get over yourselves!

I really like this professor. That being said, if she does not like you, she makes it very clear. She can be snide and grade low when she does not like you and (mentioning male to female ratio of 4:1) she tends to treat the females in class far better - not a big surprise considering this has been my experience with all female psych professors.

Great professor, EASY class. I think the average was a 98. No textbook, exams are based entirely on her lectures which are interesting and clear. Her classes are usually early in the morning, but the material makes it worth it. If you go to class and take decent notes it's almost impossible not to get an A.

Grade determined by three tests, which a review sheet is given for. No readings. Class is all lecture with some movies, but Vajda keeps it interesting.
