Comment:

Love Shakespeare, hated most of her class. The discussions and readings are great, but we had so many assignments they were very unnecessary and I felt I had a better understanding without doing the work. If you take her class despite all warnings, at least take this advice: have/grow thick skin and be ready to work.

Tabb is very helpful but that's b/c she is so all over the place with last minute clarifications and additional instructions via email a minute before something is due or worse after you've turned it in. How about teaching clearly and consistently rather than blabbering about nonsense for an hour every single day? The Final was a nightmare!!!!

This professor was amazing! I never realized that I would actually enjoy Shakespeare so much, but I did! I'm speechless, because she was just that great! MUST TAKE for all who want to actually learn!

This lady is nuts, but I like her. She recommended me for an intensive writing course, without my permission, but it was all good and I learned a lot. I like how she makes you go see her and discuss what to do for the rest of the semester. She acts like she is your Mom when you go to class, so don't be immature. Essay exams, but easy if you read.

A wonderful, inspiring teacher. Very hard, its almost bitter-sweet, the bitter being extremely bitter and the sweet being extremely sweet. My heart loves her. Despite the many times i cursed her name, i take it back. Take her.

Wonderful teacher, dedicated to her students, will always help you if you ask. Very difficult class with many people failing her unusually difficult exams. If you put the work in you will be happy with the grade. If you're lazy don't take this class. An excellent teacher who actually teaches at a college level. Very glad that I took her.

Very dedicated to her work and totally interested in the well-being of her students. Has a tendency to be indecisive and an extremely hard grader. Her class demands that you put a monumental amount of time and effort into it. It wasn't fun but it wasn't boring either. Very informative and I do agree that she is a good councellor.

Prof. Tabb is a witty, kind, intelligent and intuitive teacher. Not easy, but you will learn and she is very helpful. She introduced me to an alternate program (CUNYBA) that meant more interesting study and 2 years less school time.I never would have known, otherwise! She has changed my life and is a MUST TAKE!! Be prepared to work hard and learn!

She is a hero! I think she is one of the professors, who was meant to be. She cares about students and their future! She is extremely helpful and understanding. If you want to learn a lot, take her, you will never regret it. It is a lot of work, but you will need it later on. Professor who can change your life! =]

Professor Tabb ia an extremely helpful teacher. She truly cares about your thesis, so be prepared to work, work, work. If you pick a humanities based thesis that you really find interesting and your ready for the grueling research required, take her for 410/415. You would not regret it !

Prof. Tabb is a brilliant, warm, witty, enthusiastic, dedicated, and extremely organized educator and scholar. I took her for Lit 231, HJS 315, and Lit 313 and as a result of her example I switched majors and am now pursuing the English PhD! Lit 313: WOW! Try to take a course with her before she retires. I believe that you would not regret it.

She is a very dedicated professor, really knows her stuff. I don't think I would take her for Shakespeare, but she did an excellent job guiding the senior thesis class over the past two semesters. Attendance is MANDATORY, take that seriously! She is a challenging professor, JJ needs more like her so a BA degree isn't something just anyone can get!
