The entire class is listening to her talk and take notes. She isn't monotone or boring to listen to so you're not gonna fall asleep listening to her drone on for an hour an a half. She is tough, over half the class failed the first test but as far as history professors go shes not half bad.

I always have been an A student, but I barely make it through Farina's exams. She speaks down to us. She says that we cannot read, write or comprehend anything, and that we need to start acting like college students. I studied in 4 different countries and in 3 different languages,but Farina has managed to kill my love for history.

I will admit, although she is hilarious. Her class is HARD! I studied my notes everyday (like she advised) and failed the first exam (which she states 1/3 of all her classes fail the first one. Not something to brag about if you ask me). She's hard, buy funny. I feel like it's a hard class to pass.

I had to pick a professor who changed my life to write about for a scholarship essay, and I picked Dr. Farina. I dropped out of high school, but after her class, I am reading books set in ancient Rome and understand everything. Her "weirdness" is really how historians are and how high level history classes work.

While she is a nice lady, her class is a killer, and "if you don't take a good note, you're in deep doo doo" (her words.) Book use is important and don't miss class. She has a tendency to fly through material.

I got an A, and other then coming to class, I only spent a total of about 5 days studying or doing papers. You get an extra point on the test each day you say something in class! Some professors make you memorize the dates for everything, so I'd rather take Dr. Farina's test of odd facts out of her lecture. She's also definitely not boring lol

i really enjoyed History of Women with Professor Farina. the tests are based strictly off the lecture notes so you MUST attend class, however she approached hisotry in such a way that makes it extremly easy to attend every class. her tests are challanging so you must study. i recommend her if you are interested in learning and not a easy A!

i agree with whoever said she picks the most obscure stuff out of the notes. "im not being facetious!" best advice i can give is it doesnt matter if you get the main concepts, study the weird facts names and terms she gives you cuz thats whats going 2 be on it! study the stuff she says not to take notes on as well. tons of extra credit tho!

Just took the midterm (grade is midterm, final & paper) Not rocket science, but she says something a certain way & then on the test it is phrased completely different! Specific definitions for terms she gave us a one-word definition on 1 time. Uses strange words, too. DO NOT MISS CLASS or u will never decipher where she is going with her questions.

I adore this woman. She knows her material. I got an A-. only studied notes. all her tests come from lectures. word of advice? TAKE A GOOD NOTE. takes notes in class. go home organize your notes. STUDY STUDY your NOTES. she is fair long as u do work. gives lots of xtra credit STUDY NOTES=A ON TESTS love her

I don't know if her class is hard or not, I dropped it because I did not like the way she teaches. She can be really rude and mean sometimes.To get an A you need 95. but she does give a lot of extra credit. can't tell if it's that hard to get an A either. But if you can't stand a rude person do not take her!

this teacher is awesome. if you are a good student interested in learning, she is the perfect teacher. there's some serious note taking, she gives study guides before midterm & final. short writing assignment (2 pages), very fun and entertaining. don't take this class if you're looking for an easy A.

Great teacher, really tough class. She has a heart of gold if you talk to her with any problems. Anyone who says her class is impossible is just not a good student. If you want to learn and you will learn in her class signup. I enjoy her class and her interesting candor.

Comment:

Dr. Farina is definitely a great teacher. She can be really funny and always tries to make her class interesting. She is quite fair, but you do have to work in her class but she is fair in the grading.
