For the life of me, I canNOT fathom anyone saying a bad word about Dr. Elkins! She's the epitome of the most inspirational and perfect professor. Because of her, I absolutely love post-modernist literature. She's very passionate about what she teaches and her southern drawl gets you all hypnotized into learning! Very elegant and lovely!

Watch out! Dr. Elkins: Knowledgeable, clearly spells out her expectations for each assignment, you will succeed ONLY if you read & digest all texts! That's the good news. Individuality is discouraged: Express only her interpretations She acts sweet & helpful, but is impatient & irritable if you ask a question more than once. She insults you openly!

Best. English. Professor. Ever. Before I had to leave school in the middle of my junior year for what turned out to be a global 4-year "sabbatical," I had the pleasure of having Dr. Elkins as my professor for ENG 473. I will NOT and canNOT list enough great and wonderful things about her as these review boxes will not allow me to do so. Ugh

She is great!! I'm adding her to my top 5 best English professors!! Very funny. She hates when you're late so if you are going to be late or absent just email her. If you do all the required reading you'll do fine! :)

Dr Elkins is my personal favorite professor. This was my 1st class with her; I'm on my 4th. She's tough, but she's fair. She's intelligent, funny, helpful, and approachable (even if she may not seem it). Weekly quizzes, midterm, and final are not difficult if you read and take basic notes on the readings.

She was a difficult professor, but overall I learned a lot by the readings. She assigned long readings but no homework. We had a quiz every class meeting and attendance was very important (I missed one class and heard about it the entire quarter). I would not recommend this class to anyone who has a difficult quarter schedule.

amazing professor--very passionate about the subject and flexible if you show you are serious. she's a tough cookie but also very caring. grammar very important (as it should be if it's your major)! take her if you actually want to learn and become better in the subject. structured essays for all assignments, quizzes, and final.

She's the type of professor who thinks she's above everyone else. She's very quick to judge you for your appearance and will put you down in front of others.She can make you doubt yourself. I hated going to her class and I don't want to see her again. She's a mean lady disguised in a sweet lady costume. Other than that her teaching methods are good

I had a great experience with Dr. Elkins. She's very sweet, intelligent, and I loved her anecdotes from the South. She won't give you an A for just showing up and expects hard work.. but she is flexible and open-minded if you need time for something. She is wonderful in my experience.

She is really helpful. She sort of uses textbooks, but they are more supplementary. 4 essays and 1 in-class essay are all you are graded on, but if you keep up with her standards you should be OK. She has flexible office hours, too, and that's helpful because you can go visit her if you need help.

Dr. Elkins is such a great professor. She is fair, and when I left the class I really felt like I deserved the grade I got and learned something. Additionally, I love her Southern accent, and think she is so pretty! Especially after taking classes with horrible horrible professors like Judy Olson, I can really appreciate how great Dr. Elkins is.
