Comment:
Has very strict grading criteria, and grades students with more of an opinion based rubric than an actual concise rubric. Gives grades based on how distinct your answers are from other students, so you must have an exceptionally different paper with a new technique of solving to get full points. Terrible teacher.

Dr. Freitag is GREAT! He is so organized and has a backup plan for everything. He's probably one of the harder professors for CHM 203 but that's only because he's a genius. Your grade is based on your exams and there's no extra credit but if you pay attention in lectures you'll do fine on the exams. Also, expect a quiz at least once a week.

Professor Freitag was very challenging. Due to him being very smart and also the professor of advanced General Chemistry, I highly suggest not taking his class if you are not strong in chemistry or consider yourself a beginner. His homework problems do help, however, the test alone is very challenging. Compared to the other professors, he is hard

He is a good prof, but he is so smart that it is hard for him to dumb things down to explain them. He has LOTS of office hours and is always willing to help, it's just his explanations just don't always help. Very nice guy and grades pretty consistently, tests are very hard though, and there is usually a quiz once a week.

Chemistry can be a tough course. Freitag does not many it easier but he doesn't make it harder. His lectures are basically someone reading the book to you and writing it on a chalk board.

Dr. Freitag is probably the most organized human I have ever met. He writes his class notes with the program latec. He is very structured and very rigorous. He's an engaging lecturer and he makes you think about what you are learning. His problem sets and tests are difficult but he is willing to help if you ask.

By far the most organized Chemistry teacher at Creighton. He puts his notes on the board in Roman numerals and it makes it very easy to follow. He's an excellent teacher. He grades his tests difficultly but if you do the homework and go to lecture you'll do well on the tests.

Freitag is awesome. Definitely one of the harder Gen Chem profs, but you'll learn a lot from him. Do the book problems and know the material and you'll be fine. An A is do-able if you put the effort it. Definitely would take him again.

Dr. Freitag is a great professor. He's super smart and explains things very thorough. He wants you to make use of his office hours, so definitely do that it will help a lot. However, you will have to work for your grade. Tests are pretty hard, but definitely doable to get an A if you read the chapter and do the practice problems.

I took Dr. Freitag during the summer for Gen Chem 1. He was a very thorough teacher and really cares about his students. He's willing to help you if you're willing to come to him with questions. He's also extremely smart and can teach at a very fast pace, so his courses are best if you have a solid background in chemistry first. Awesome professor!

Dr. Freitag makes you work and utilize office hours. He is an absolutely amazing lecturer and posts crazy good notes in blueline (he also has his own website). He writes extremely hard exams though. If you are interested in chemistry and are willing to work hard, he will help you be successful. Not an easy A or B at all.

Dr. Freitag is one of the best chemistry teachers I've ever had. I took AP Chem in high school so I had a solid background, but his content was still semi-challenging. However, it's easy to get an A as long as you show up to class and do the work. He gives super thorough notes after each lecture that help a ton. Be ready for hard tests.

Dr. Freitag is perhaps the most thorough teacher I have ever had. His notes are extremely helpful in understanding the material, but his tests are extremely hard and you really need to memorize everything he has ever taught. Luckily (for PCHEM), there is no final, but boy his tests and problem sets are impossible. Study every night to get an A

He is just way too smart to teach General Chemistry. Whenever I had questions he never really helped but just restated my question or would explain something in the same way even though I came because I didn't understand how he explained something. I would definitely avoid him if you don't want to be a Chem major.

He is an extremely smart professor that knows what he's talking about. His lectures are easy to follow and clear. However, the exams are extremely hard. His grading is based on exams, a final, a few quizzes and problem sets. He encourages office hours and is willing to help you.

Dr. Freitag is smart as a whip, a considerate grader, and willing to go above and beyond to help you learn chemistry. I took this class during the summer, so long lines for office hours were nonexistent. If you make a math mistake he gave great partial credit. Show up, pay attention, ask questions, do the work, easy A.

Very very helpful and encouraging of office hours and questions. Very difficult tests! Only take if you are already pretty good at chemistry. Definitely not an easy A class, maybe B if you're good at chem. Really nice and willing to work with you and figure out how to help you succeed, but very difficult class. He is too smart to teach gen chem.

Really detailed in lecture and posts very good notes online. Definitely do the book problems and go into office hours if you have questions on them because he pulls questions from the homework problems and tweaks them for the test, and the tests are incredibly hard. Don't take him if you don't have a strong chem background.
