Comment:

Hamburger is clearly intelligent but he looks down upon everyone else because of it. Oddly, he cannot spell AT ALL. Class consists of being talked at for 3 hours on material that should have been covered weeks ago. We are so far behind. After months of this class, he still forgets the names of people who speak regularly. Textbook Napoleonic complex

Comment:

Professor Hamburger insists on analyzing literally every text from the antiquated gender issues perspective. Further, he takes on the sides of only the women and not the men. He's also completely unwilling to see any argument other than his own and purposefully asks dumbed-down questions so class arrives at his ideas. Mockery of Socratic method.

Recently became an adjunct at MassArt. Handed our first paper back a month late. Doesn't care about the class at all. He stands up in front of the class for 3.5 hours and talks and talks and talks. Recently went on a rant about the difference between him (professor) and us (students) and why he was wearing the nice clothes/standing behind the desk.

He is a tough little grader. Likes to talk alot about your papers and the material. You never know what he will say so keeps things interesting. Knows a lot about texts and how to write, so is a little too critical for intro class. Going to office hrs will help alot! Don't need to read the texts just make sure your papers are organized.

He's ok. Very helpful, but tough grader. Definitely go to office hours. Talks ALOT. Comments are pretty clear and he's willing to help whenever he can. Very disorganized and postpones assignments a lot. Slightly scatter-brained, but nice.

Nice guy, pretty approachable. He's tough to get the A from... if you hand him a paper by T.S. Eliot, he could find something to make it an A- or B+. Has trouble appreciating any deviations from how he would've written the paper.

Hamburger tends to have some indigestion problems, but he is a great teacher. his grading is tough, but he often cans grades and allows complete redos...this after you go to office hours and he explains to you exactly what topics to cover in your paper...
