Professor Zank is a really passionate about religion and provides a good intro to the Bible. His lectures are random and unorganized. His exams are difficult and there is a lot of memorization. If you can take another humanities course, I would recommend it unless you are super passionate about the Bible. He spends a lot of time on topics he likes

Professor Zank is really awesome. His class is quite lecture heavy and attendance is mandatory, but he makes the class very interesting. He's very passionate about what he's teaching and it's very inspiring because he's doing something that he loves.

Zank is extremely intelligent, funny, and kind. I did learn a lot from his class and think he is a wonderful professor. Only thing is he a little disorganized, though that got fixed towards the end. If you're interested in the Bible and can work through a little disorganization, take this class. Not a lot of homework but very great readings.

Professor Zank is a wonderful professor and human being. He is a great lecturer, and provides great feedback on paper. However, he does want students to succeed and provides ample opportunities for extra credit if needed. I would take his class again, and take more classes with him.

Zank is awesome well spoken, great sense of humor, and incredibly knowledgeable aboutanything and everything to do about the Southern Levant. I loved the class and I think it's a great course for anyone with any interest in the Abrahamic faiths. It's important to know the history of our worldly problems and this course sets you up for just that.

Zank was a wonderful professor! He is extremely knowledgeable of the Abrahamic faiths and works to facilitate discussions amongst the students. I loved this class in particular because of its universal appeal. If you have any questions about the current state of the Levant, this course will answer many, if not all, of them.

Zank is cool, not as bad as previous reviews make him out to be. Very passionate and knowledgeable about his stuff. Expects students to be prepared in class and work hard, lots to read daily! Only silly rule is mandatory attendance, like many other CAS courses this is a bit ridiculous. Otherwise this is a good professor, great class to take.

Horrible class structure and the professor is a bit crazy. I dropped this class because I had a bad feeling about him. He has lots of assignments and he is ridiculous about how he requires you to submit them. The class has a horrible structure and he treats the students like it is a second grade class.

If your not interested in the Bible, don't take this class. If you interested in it, definitely take it. Professor Zank was engaging, interesting, compassionate towards outside opinion, and very interested in student's comprehension. One of the best classes I've had at BU. But remember... you should be interested in the subject first!

He was okay. Based on these ratings I was looking more forward to this class, but was disappointed. Class got a little boring because I don't have that much interest in the Bible. But he seems like a nice enough guy.

Overall, the class was a bit of a mess. Although the lectures generally had to do with the readings, they often wandered off to various other topics. Lots of reading; graded mainly by essays. Class was interesting, prof. definitely knows about the subject.

I hated this class when I first started it. The class isnt structured and he's all over the place. I realized later that he really just wants us to become interested in the subject. He is very knowledgeable and I appreciated the class after it ended. I would take another class with him.

Professor Zank is a very nice guy who is genuinely interested on educating his students about the various bible. His class is easy, I hardly paid attention & got an A. Exams are based off his notes which are readily available online. He is not that clear, so try to sit in front to hear him clearly. Lectures arent that organised but that's his style

This was a class on The Bible and it's not very organized, but that's just his style. Classes are just huge discussions/debates on various Bible passages. The reading can add up, but there aren't many assignments. Only a few homeworks, a midterm, and a final. He's a funny and very interesting guy, but he tends to mumble so sit up front.

Very interesting class, keeps the subjects very stimulating and pretty much hands you the exams beforehand so you can prepare for it...TF graded the papers a little harsh though...all in all if you're an IR major, it will seem pretty boring the first part of the semester seems irrelevant but the last quarter is the "IR" part of the course

He is brilliant and creative and enthusiastic. His biggest concern, always, is whether or not the student are connecting to the material in some way. And he is super sexy as well in a mad-scientist, passionate brilliant man kind of way. Makes for an awesome classroom experience!

What a wonderful professor. He really cares about his students. It's amazing how much this man knows about religion, but he's still very approachable. I wish I could take more classes with him! He's one of the best professors at BU, and you'll see why when you take one of his classes.
