Comment:

This was such a breath of fresh air because we can turn in assignments up until the final day of class, which gave us room to work at our own pace. The essays and short answers are not difficult, but to do take some time so do not wait until the last week. Not a lot of student-teacher interaction, but it helps you learn on your own.

Comment:

Professor Sabin is one of my favorites, I'm a biology major taking music classes for GE and this was the PERFECT class. She is super kind and makes the topics interesting. The class is self-paced so everything is due at the same time at the end of the semester. Quizzes and discussions every other week, NO exams but 1 essay at the end of every unit.

Comment:

She is well-intentioned, but it can be hard to sit through an entire hour of her lectures. She can be quite absent-minded and go on long tangents. In addition, her online quizzes are extremely frustrating in that they often contain quite subjective questions which have unclear answers, making it difficult to get a good grade. Quite a bizarre class.

Comment:

She's such a sweetheart. I love her passion for music and the visual arts, you can see how excited she gets by it. Course is only graded upon 3 exams, attendance isn't necessary, she uses it for extra credit. Enjoyed having her as a professor, would definitely recommend to get your GE done without pain.

Can feel unclear & confusing at first cuz she doesn't explain much, but she grades so easily & is very forgiving if u forget an assignment or don't do it on time! lectures are kinda boring, but its a great class to get other work done in & u get points for showing up. she's actually very nice & knows a lot! just push through, its easy to pass!

She is a hot mess. Very unclear of her assignments, however easy A. The whole class was just creating lesson plans for each subject she had us do. She's a sweet lady, and wants the best for her students, just doesn't always portray that in her directions. You'll know what I mean, when you take her lol. Easy A!

The class is very easy to pass. It is hard to get below 100 on any paper but there is a lot of them, which should be expected of a capstone anyway. It isnt really necessary to be present but it's a good place to get your work done early and hang around. A lot of lesson plans but she grades them easily but still gives notes on how to improve.

AVOID THIS CLASS! Sabin does not teach, she just reads off powerpoint word for word! 3 exams, 2 papers. For exams she gives lengthy study guides (approx. 8 pages) and expect you to memorize EVERYTHING and basically teach yourself. However, papers are easy A. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. HER EXAMS ARE NOT ONLINE ANYMORE. HARDER THAN A BIOLOGY COURSE!!!

Use the textbook code to get all the notes from the textbook; powerpoint lectures are not detailed enough for tests. Make sure to listen to all of the NAWM & review notes a lot. It's sort of easy to cheat on her tests, esp on quizzes, she gives you the answers. Don't use phones in class, she will call you out. Must bring NAWM book to class.

Easiest class to take for a upper division capstone. No homework. Don't buy the book as reading isn't necessary. Essays are graded based on doing them, not what you write. I wrote an essay and in a couple minutes received a full grade. She is often in her own world when teaching. Only available in the Spring.

I love the arts, but I gained nothing in this class. The lectures are pointless, but she does take attendance. I would suggest bringing something to do (homework, a book) for lectures, because they do drag on. The assignments are easy. Don't buy the book.

Really sweet lady. Sign-in sheet every day. No tests. Simple papers and lesson plans due every week. One group project. You have to go to a musical performance to write a paper. A final paper. Really easy class, but the class is extremely dry and boring.

sweetheart. is passionate and extremely knowledgeable on all types of art from all time periods. 4 lesson plans are created and you have 3 short 1-2 page papers and a group lesson presentation. easy class. make sure to participate and the class can be fun.

Her grading system changed dramatically. No more online exam. The exam consist of multiple choice, mix matching, and listenin to music clips. 100 questions with lots of lots of memorization from ppt and exam review. you don't need the textbook

5 art integrated lesson plans, 1 unit plan, an art performance review, and some other small assignments. She wants you to get an A and you probably will. Her lectures are a bit dry and she is more music focused than the other arts. Easy A, nice lady, kind of boring

Mind-numbingly boring, it's hard to find the will to go to class, not that it matters, the only important information I gathered from class were quiz dates. The quizzes are a joke, she tells you the answers at the end before she makes you turn it in, and she doesn't seem to notice people discussing answers blatantly.

My only complaint is that she tends to zoom through her powerpoint presentations. There is so much information during her lectures. I recommend recording the lectures and/or downloading the powerpoints onto your phone if you can. It helps when you don't have enough time to jot down even one complete thought in you notes.

This class was SO. BORING. Thank god attendance wasn't mandatory or necessary. She talks through half of the movie clips she shows. It's an easy A, though. 3 untimed online quizzes straight from the book + essay portion on the first 2 exams, 2 written projects on whatever movie you want.

no textbook. she's really nice about handing in late work, which is awesome when you have tons of other stuff to do. lectures do get a lil dry and i did wish there was fun activities. you have 3 papers, a lesson plan, and a presentation, but grading is very easy and it's an easy A.
