Comment:
Peter is a great guy, but his lectures are super boring and he gets off topic really easily. Half the time he doesn't cover the material meant for the class because he is telling a story. The tests are super easy if you go to the review sessions and look at the notes online. The only thing that goes towards your final grade is 2 test scores.

While the class was easy enough, he was often late and/or absent and it was quite hard to stay awake during his class. Attendance isnt mandatory but if you always show up itll give you extra credit.

Professor Herlihy really cares about the material he lectures on. You can tell he is passionate about what he is teaching which makes his lectures interesting. However, the exams are extremely hard, make sure you read the textbook and study the maps!

Tests are based on the maps he passes out in lecture and reading the textbook. The textbook is really the "teacher" in this course. You're really only graded on your online work and the tests. He was a really passionate guy, but more in a historical than geographical context, not really a great fit for the class.

He tells a lot of stories and talks a long time about his experience. They would be interesting if I was different but some how each story has a similar story line. Within the hour and fifteen minutes you'll take maybe half a page of notes because he just talks and talks and talks.

I love Peter as a person, but his teaching is everywhere. Scattered in his lessons and often gets off topic. Basically only use the book for key word lists and maps. Easy to get an A though because he curves every test.

He's one of my least fav. teachers. He would get very political in class, but always add "This isn't political, but..." His notes aren't too helpful, and the key word list is an unorganized mess. The work book is a pain. It wasn't exactly difficult, but an annoying class, and an annoying professor.

Professor Peters is a cool old man. He likes to ramble on different tangents when he is talking. However, the random tangents really help you remember the material. He is very helpful and willing to work things out with you. Highly intelligent. Make sure you do the work book and Key word list. Class can be boring at times, overall a great teacher

Really great teacher, he knows his stuff. He usually passes around a sheet of paper so attendance is required although you could probably skate through with a C if you only showed up for the tests. Tests are basically straight from the notes which he usually takes from the book. He almost always let class out early. Funny old man.

The best professor I've had at KU. He is extremely nice and engaging. Topics are very interesting and yes he goes off talking about personal experiences but that is what makes the class so engaging and fun. He has been EVERYWHERE and his stories will make you want to travel everywhere he talks about.

Really easy class. He rambles sometimes and gets off subject but I think it's because he's really smart and has so much information to spit out that he gets carried away. Nice guy, gives good curves on the test. Just study the key word list and do the maps and you should get an A.

I'll agree with the previous comment. He's a real nice guy, but is somewhat of a scattered brains. His lectures can get off topic real quick and you lose interest immediately. But he is passionate about what he teaches and is actually a pretty funny dude!

He gets distracted (by himself) awfully easily, but he's a genuinely nice guy and you can tell he's passionate about his subject matter. More power to him.

Took GEOG 100 over the summer with him. Nice teacher. However, a bit unorganized. He gets off topic frequently to talk about his personal experiences, which are actually very interesting, but I wish we'd talk about it after the class material. Other than that, pretty straightforward class. Not very hard to get an A in.

Hes kind of all over the place and the tests are hard but he is extremely fair! Go to any test review he offers, they are very helpful. Curves the test almost 10% if not more. He is very nice as well.
