Comment:

Three tests and one group project. You have to buy two books but rarely use them. Lecture notes are frequently off topic but she does do powerpoints but usually doesnt give time to write everything down. Participation is expected and she will criticize the class as a whole if not familiar with current events.

Comment:

Worst professor I've ever had. It is sad that WSU would hire a middle-eastern immigrant who hates America to teach American Government. She's rude, shows up late, and is usually ill-prepared for lectures. She does not allow students to take pics so you have to copy notes very quickly. If you leave class early, she'll report you for cheating.

Dr. Hussain was my least favorite professor this semester. She gets frustrated when you point something out for being wrong, and she doesnt even put foreword any effort to learn anyones names. She didnt take attendance for a grade so I would find myself skipping every now and again.

Comment:

Terrible. Long lectures and she reads from black and white slides. TA does all the grading and takes off points for no reason. Does not use Pilot so you never know your grade. Not willing to help you if you are lost and reach out in need of help. I'm a freaking PLS major and I got my first 'D' ever & had to retake this class with different prof.

Kind of harsh. Tests are very straight forward and easy only if you study. Does not use pilot at all. A lot of notes. Notes are all in lecture, so if you miss any classes you are pretty much screwed.

She laid out clear expectations at the beginning of the semester, so nothing came as a surprise. We had 3 tests total and she told us everything that would be on the tests. Didn't really need the book. She does have an accent, but it's not very thick. She was encouraging and was willing to clarify. She doesn't use email or Pilot.

She reads the slides to fast, you don't have time to take anything down. She doesn't use pilot and her test reviews are meaning less. Test questions are very confusing and could have multiple answers

She is difficult to understand with her accent. Her class is pretty easy if you know the subject and/or study and read. She can be demeaning if you ask a question.

No online portal, all notes to be taken in class. Though hard because she goes so fast and hard to understand. Pretty rude. Test are hard and based of lectures and book. A lot of essays, I ended up writing a total of 20+ pages. Expect to watch the news everyday. Goes over class time and never hands back assignments so you won't know your grade.

I was so interested in taking this class when it came out but it plummeted the 1st day. Doesn't post power points, A LOT of note taking, hard to understand, not empathetic, and as someone with 0 PLS exp... her TEACHING is difficult. Not the class, unless you're a foreign student and have no knowledge of US history or gov't. Never again.

She is a very tough grader and expects you to know the chapters read that week. She loves participation and WILL call you out if you do not. Definitely take notes and pay attention in class. She gives study guides but her test are still tricky. The class can be VERY boring especially if you have no interest in politics. She gives one group project

If you like engaging lectures and can take criticism when you answer wrong, then you'll like her. If you have 0 interest in politics or don't care about college, you will hate her. She wants participation and reviews notes weekly. Most notes are her own but supplemented by the book. Exams were pretty easy, one group project, some extra credit.

I took this class my spring semester of my freshmen year, and she through me off! One i couldn't understand here, and two she was rude. Though the class itself isn't that hard, she's just a pain. Also, prepare for NOTES and SORE WRISTS!!!

Get ready to write notes and listen up! She has a thick accent so if you can't understand someone who speaks clearly in English, don't take her class. Plus bring your laptop to class because you better be ready to type up the notes. She does not use Pilot or post the power points online. Be specific in the answers you give when she asks a question.

I really did not enjoy this class just due to the fact that you could not really mess up. Grade is based on group presentations and exams. Group Presentation 10% Exam 1 30% Exam 2 30% Final Exam 30% If you study you should be fine but I believe this course could be taught better. Very boring...

I don't understand how people can complain about Dr. Hussain. She is an expert in her field and can relate information in a way to help people who know nothing about politics understand the material with ease. JUST SHOW UP and you will do great.

She is the type of teacher that has you read and in class you discuss what you were suppose to have read the night before. This is my hardest class this semester. Study Study Study!!!! She only gives out 3 exam which are 30% each and a group project discussion that is 10%.
