Professor Eck is probably the nicest professor I've ever had. Her work is easy and she gives you a lot of time to get it done. Plus offers a lot of easy extra credit. She also gives you feedback on all of your assignments. Overall, she just wants you to find an appreciation for art, so it's less about the work and more about that (aka easy grader)

Comment:
There's no ambiguity in this course at all. Prof. Eck is transparent and allows students to express their opinions about the art. She was constantly reminding us about assignments, posts LOTS of extra credit, and understands that this course is a gen ed elective and not that deep. I would 100% take her again and highly reccomend this course. Easy A

Professor Eck is such a great professor. She will always go the extra mile for her students. She gives you extra credit opportunities throughout the semester to help your great. What I also like about her is she is 90% available outside of class to help or to talk with you. I highly recommend taking her.

Had her a year ago. She really teaches you so much on most artists. She is so knowledgeable, it was hard studying for the midterm and final but I still got an A in her class, you have to know about all the art pieces she goes over but makes the exam about them so you can get good grades on them. She assigns easy and doable homework assignments.

Tests are photos off her powerpoints that you have to identify five CORRECT things about. The homework WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE! I got a D on the midterm and failed the final, yet passed the class. Long class too. I'd be wide awake, then she'd walk in and say "Good evening, class" and I started yawning out of nowhere. She's also Austrian.

Prof Eck has a very easy course--she understands it's a survey class and only 100 level. She provides a ton of extra credit. The course is composed of a midterm and final, in addition to 1 homework assignment, and 1 online discussion. Everything else is optional (read: extra credit). She insists you buy the cheapest textbook, which was also nice

There were several very short (250 words) assignments, plus midterm, final, and term paper (300-500 words). She's a pretty lenient grader--I couldn't remember a lot of stuff at the midterm, but I wrote down literally everything about what I did know and got an A. She gives TONS of extra credit. Lectures aren't too animated, but interesting enough.

She is a really good professor. I am not really interested in art history in particular but her class was very interesting. She definitely knows what she is doing and you are only required to do I believe about 4 assignments (you get to choose some of the assignments you want to do). Also she gives a lot of extra credit. Take her.

Awesome professor. Great class if you're cool with long lectures, but they're not too boring since she cracks jokes every once in a while. Only two tests and a museum visit, but lots of extra credit opportunities if you flunk one of the exams. I didn't even buy the textbook, just studied the powerpoints she posted online. Really great.

Her teaching style can be boring, she does most of the talking not a lot of group chat. She had a large list of photos to memorize but not many are on the tests. I'm better for knowing them all. The class inspired me to start taking pictures again. I would take her again. So one paper, museum visit 2 exams with slides and xtra credit opportunities.

Professor Eck isn't a particularly great teacher, she kind of just reads off some facts about images. It's not a very structured class. Easy tests (the book has all the info you need) and one or two easy written assignments.

Very easy class. One homework, one museum visit, midterm and final. Non accumulative. Always willing to help, cares about her students. Only marks absences against you if you don't do well - if you do well, she doesn't care if you show up or not.

Really nice teacher but class is useless. lets you bring laptop (recommended to keep you busy. facebook is all we do). tests easy, involve memorizing material (recommend flash cards with pics) must no the image and 4 facts. picks 10 random art peices to test on. final is not accumulative. u dnt need to take notes jus look up facts in text

EXTREMELY HARD. for a gen ed, it was a TON of work... i understand that it is a college class, but her organization with the art you had to memorize was horrible and nearly impossible. if you take it be prepared to study your ass off.

This class was pretty hard only b/c you had to study like crazy BUT she gives enough extra credits to give you an A even if you fail one exam. only 2 easy papers too. I sat on my laptop every day doing other work and got an A. All you need to do is study the terms on the paper on your own and youll be fine.
