I took her class last semester and it was actually a lot of fun. You have a decent amount of work to do, she assigns study guides that she collects for attendance and gives them back for you to study. No real assigned homework aside from that. Three exams, a presentation, and two essays. Her class was a lot of fun, I would recommend it for Gen Eds.

She is a very unorganized, awful individual who clearly is NOT cut-out for being a professor and she does not care about her students. It must be all about he paycheck to her.

This class is a joke, she is trying to teach a graduate course, in the form of a gen-ed. I can't tell what puts me to sleep quicker, her lecturing or any of the hundreds of readings she assigns for each class. The essays are generally worded, however she expects much more and stuff that contradicts the rubric.

I was told at the beginning of this course it would be taught at a "100" level. Throughout the semester, she gave articles that were difficult to read & when asked for clarification, she would just say well you signed up for a 300level course. The topics are okay in the beginning of the semester but it seems as if you need art background to succeed

Great professor! Explains material in detail. Assignments are lengthy but not frequent, however she is helpful with questions. Definitely need to refer to textbook to be able to fully understand terms for class discussions.

Took the class as a Gen Ed. Unfortunately it is basically a 100% memorization class. Memorize the title, artist, year, and be able to analyze a bunch of different paintings. Make a bunch of flash cards and cram for the test, then forget it and repeat for the next exam since nothing is cumulative. Not a hard class, but not easy either.

It is not mentioned in the course description but there is a lot of outside class time events that she makes you go to. Have to work or another class during that time? She doesn't care and will expect you to skip. I missed 25 minutes of a class during a test day because of her. Needless to say, she thinks the world revolves around her class.

If you write down everything she says in class, you'll be fine. She repeats a lot of the material too so just pay attention (so go to class). It's one of the more difficult classes at Berks bc you have to actually show up and memorize works of art, but classes should be more like this bc it's college. She's cool and interesting and nerdy!

Although she is a really nice person, I just did not like the way she ran things. It's a Gen Ed class but she acted like all of us in the room had art backgrounds. Whole thing was memorization, and when it came to writing the visual analysis, she grades way too hard! Don't take her if you don't have to.

DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS FO ART GEN ED CREDITS! I took the class for gen ed and it was awful. The course was extremely boring and the biggest focus is memorization. For the exams you need to know 50+ works of art, their title, the artist, the medium, the date and the location and you are only tested on a few of them. The lectures are boring and 3X/wk

this class is so boring and so much work for just a gen ed. makes you memorize 50 some works and only about 10 end up on the tests. not very helpful at all. there is absolutely no need for a lecture class and a discussion class. does allow rewrites on a paper and gives some extra credit options which is nice but other than that not a good class.

Honest: She is very nice, but extremely boring. She takes the class as it is an "entrance to major course". You have to take notes&write down everything she says for the tests. You do learn A LOT about art which is fascinating. I enjoyed it, only because I'm an artist. If you don't need to take the class, don't. There's another Art History teacher.

Cute and nerdy. I really enjoyed the class. Attend classes, and write down everything she says about the artwork piece she is describing, it's very useful on tests. And you have to memorize artworks for the tests. Easy A. And come on guys, it's college. You're wasting your time here if you think that's too much work.

She is adorably nerdy and funny. Really loves what she teaches and knows her stuff. It's not too much of the history aspect involved, we just pretty much analyzed paintings... I loved it. Her tests are pretty hard. We go over like almost thirty different artworks, but only 6 are on the exam... she doesn't tell you which ones so you study a lot.
