Seems like a lot of people taking his classes want their philosophy spoon fed and don't get that they need to learn to think for themselves. Maybe they should stop texting for a moment and attempt to actually learn. If not, stop taking up space and go to a trade school. SS has a great mind, and he's not condescending, just intolerant of idiots.

Stuart Silvers is the worst professor I've ever had in all my years of education. He's rude, uncompromising, spiteful, and honestly, he should just retire. I ask to make up one exam because of a health issue and he goes off to say "you should medically withdrawl from the class". drop him asap! I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.

Makes logic a lot harder than it needs to be. Will not answer any questions about the study guides he gives you. He'll tell you that the study guide questions are essentially the test, but in reality he only puts about half on the test. Horribly condescending and rude. Do not take him!

Mr . Silvers does not respect others in his classroom, first of all. If you have a question, you will either be made fun of it for asking or just ignored. He teaches very incomprehensibly because he rambles about unrelated topics. If you think his study guides will help, they will not. He refuses to give us the answers. You'll regret taking him

He is a very rambling man as previously stated. However, his class is interesting and his test are EXACTLY the study guide. How do you expect him to give an answer key to the guide if its the test also? Easy class to pass. Strongly recommend

He really likes to ramble and sometimes he's kind of hard to listen to, but overall paying attention helps with the test. The workbook is your best friend....just do the homework he assigns and you'll pass. Also, use the study guides he gives...just like the test.

Makes zero sense and doesn't really care to change that. He just rambles and talks in circles while staring at the ceiling. He does create study guides for the tests, but refuses to give you an answer key or answer any questions that you may have, so its basically useless. The only way to learn anything is to work together with your classmates.

DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. It is incredibly boring and he makes you feel so dumb all of the time. He never spits out a complete sentence without thinking of something else. He thinks everything is common knowledge because we are "native speakers of english" and he constantly stares at the ceiling ... I would rather of had an 8 oclock class.

Prepare to be humiliated if you don't know the answer. His favorite phrase is "Are you a native speaker of English?" I did not like his teaching style at all. Tells you you're wrong but can't explain why. Goes off on tangents for 10 minutes to make one small point. Waste of time, but not terribly difficult if you read the book.

Very VERY spacey. Often goes on long rambles about when he lived in Europe and other meaningless talk. These rants are the only thing that make the hour and 15 minutes in his class tolerable. Not very willing to help and is very flighty.

He is a horrbile teacher! He's a complete space cadet. He has no idea what he is talking about, his notes make no sense, and he just rambles the whole time! The book is confusing and talks in circles, but it kind of clarifies what he can't. He's a moron! DON'T TAKE HIM!!!

This guy is a pain, he won't help you at all if you come to him. He tells you to read the book and figure it out for yourself. Very Smug, and makes class a lot harder than it should be.

I really liked his class. If you like math or thinking logically take this class. It was an easy A for me. His classes are amusing; he always gets sidetracked. Read the book, do the homework, attend study sessions before and you'll do fine.

Has Dr. Silvers @ Cal State Fullerton, Calif. One of the best teachers I had, including graduate school. His course language analysis which included an analysis of decision theory...the best. A major positive factor in my life.

Horrible teacher! Doesn't explain material well at all. Much information will have to be learned on your own or in teacher-recommended study groups. It took about 80% of the class two 3 hour study sessions to finish the study guide for the final exam. Changes subject constantly when teaching. I also recommend: Don't take!

Seems like he is in outer space the entire time. He canĂ¢€™t speak one sentence with out stopping mid sentence to try to think of a big word to stick in it. He makes fun of students and tries to be clever but he is just very boring and dull. Instead of explaining logic he will just sit down and watch the class struggle then explain bad. DONT TAKE!

I had Dr. Silvers for Philosophy and Logic. The course itself is kind of dry, so i managed to stay awake for most of it, but his teaching style didnt help much. Usually we would be lectured on the material, then put problems on the board. Homework is optional and there were only 4 test that determined your grade. Silvers is kind of a spacy guy.

I had him for Philosophy of Mind, and it was and still is one of my favorite classes I've taken here. The lecture/discussion is extremely interesting. If you anything about computers and/or AI, this class should be easy. The tests were not that hard.

This guy SUCKS. DON'T TAKE HIM. The entire point of the class will start to piss you off and from there it's completely pointless. Take ANYTHING BUT THIS CLASS.
