Tom is one of the best professors I've encountered at SUNY New Paltz. When going through a rough time, Tom was very understanding and let me make things up on my own time. He does ramble on occasion but he is a very sweet and inspirational man. Would recommend to any art student.

Thom is such a sweet and caring guy. He gives a lot of lectures that usually strain off topic, but he's just a passionate guy. Need recommendations on how to better yourself? He will do his best to drive you in the right direction. Took 3 courses with him and if he offered anymore, I'd be the first to sign up. :)

Loved this professor! sweetest guy ever and gave amazing feedback. he was so enthusiastic about color that it made me even more excited about it myself, he does talk a lot but he rambles about rather interesting things. would absolutely take again!! i was always so happy to go to his class and always left in a great mood

Tom is a really great professor who you can tell cares a lot. He was helpful and gave me extra feedback when I requested it. His way of teaching drawing is awesome and really helped me a lot. He takes us on field trips a bunch which I liked.

Tom is the best. I am procrastinating well and writing a nice rate about him. He takes you outside the class so you can get air and draw outside and you are able to listen to music (some teachers prefer you do not) He's the best and I hope to take his 5.5 hour class. He sometimes goes on tangents, but brings in food from the farmer's market. Love!!

Prof. Sarrantonio is amazing. I learned so much in his drawing class. His projects are always really fun and because he specializes in landscape paintings he likes to take us outside and on field trips. He does ramble a lit and actually has an "irrelevancy bell" but his stories are always really funny and interesting.

It was such a joy to have Tom as a professor. He was so knowledgeable about nature and encouraged us to draw inspiration from being outdoors (which is why we took so many trips to different nature preserves). He can talk a lot and get off track very easily, which he is well aware of, but I learned a lot from his class.

Great MAN!! So glad my Advisor suggested him, I finally found someone who talks as much as myself!! LOL, Great guy though, and love listening to him talk about things, he's very knowledgable!!! Really enthusiastic about the world in general, will take you out to draw very often. Holds critiques and asks students to point out works they really like and talks about their strong and weak points. The usual. I really love this guy. He has a really gentle manner about him and breaks out into a smile once in a while in the middle of a sentence.

Tom is great! He's very laid back and goes off on random tangents ALL THE TIME!!! But he's really nice and you go on field trips all the time. If you're a couch potato, expect verbal abuse from him...he pretty much hates tvs...but other than that...he's great. Definitely take him if you can!!!
