Tim was overall really great! I truly enjoyed being in his class. Although I received a bad grade, it was all my fault. He does random pop quizzes and because I rarely showed up for class I missed more than half which resulted in my grade. The tests are so easy, he lets you make 1 cheat sheet for each test which was super helpful!

He was the best math teacher I had even my high school teachers weren't as good at teaching as he was honestly favorite teacher in college a shame his retiring but at least he gets to live his best life.

Super nice guy. Gives no required homework. He helps A LOT when you need it. His quiz grading set up gives you all the chances to do well and very little chance at failure. Do the in class work and take notes, you will pass.

I was never really good at math but I took his class this term and I can finally understand it! He is an amazing teacher and he teaches very well! I could understand everything and if you ever need help or have questions he is always there and answers them thoroughly. I highly recommend him he's amazing and cares about all of his students!

Tim Merzenich is a GREAT math teacher! I greatly respect him & absolutely love his style of teaching. DO NOT be annoying because he's such a nice gentleman and irritating him will just not benefit you. DO participate in class because it's a great way of learning, especially with Tim. POP Quizzes are a piece of cake! :) I WISH HE TAUGHT MTH11 :(

When I took his class, he did not check homework. He just explained homework questions as we needed. His explorational was great. Before we had tests, he gave review sheet which was so helpful. We had lots of kinda pop quizzes which was not difficult.

I took MTH 070 & MTH 095 online with Professor Merzenich. Work is through Mathlab so you won't interact with him much if at all. The few times I did email for help he responded quickly. No extra credit but due dates are very flexible and you can retake everything but exams as much as you need. Finals are moderately difficult but ok if you study.

Easy A if you do the assignments on MyMathLab and exams. There are no deadlines but don't do everything the last week, there is a lot. Final exam was easy.

Tim was not a helpful teacher. Did not clarify what was expected and attempted to change the syllabus two days before the final. Not a hands on teacher and disrespectful towards students and their time. Would not recommend.

Tim is one of my favorite teachers at Chemeketa! He is very patient and helpful and he'll take time to make sure you understand the material. Show up to class and put forth the effort, and you should have no problem getting an A.

I completely recommend Tim Merzenich. Concepts I have been taught twice in previous classes were finally explained in a way I could grasp. Homework is not graded, he answers all questions on HW at the beginning, his quizzes and tests are short and simple (nothing unexpected). He also has a sense of humor and is willing to help in and out of class.

Tim is a terrible college professor. I had gotten almost an perfect score prior to taking the final which accounts for 50 % OF YOUR GRADE, and ended up with a B because I had only gotten a 70% on the final. I do not recommend this guy to anyone, very difficult, I have never gotten a grade in math that was less than A, including College Algebra.

I would say that Tim is a mediocre teacher. Helpful in questions that you have, other than that you are on your own to figure out the material. All the material is due at the end of the class, but he does have a schedule to help students know where they should be each week. Paper and pencil exam, which you can't review.
