Comment:
This was a 6 credit class that was a huge waste of time. The lectures were super boring and Wood went off topic ALL THE TIME. He was very strict on attendance, and did not change it for me when I came in late because I was stuck in traffic. I do not recommend the course or the professor

I wouldnt say this class was hard or easy. For 6 credits it was managable and i work a lot. This class does require field trips and out of class activies but only 2 are mandatory he works with you on dates and times. There are 2 open note take home exams and a case study that includes a 3500 word essay. He is an easy grader if you care he cares.

He's definitely a smart guy with lots of pertinent experience. However, he isn't very accessible outside of class and he has favorites. The class was cool but I he preferred scuba divers to snorkelers.

This professor was TERRIBLE. Not understanding whatsoever. The class was the most boring 3 hours of my life. You have an art project but, don't think you get to be creative whatsoever he is so strict on it and doesn't help at all. Didn't grade anything until last week and has no respect for students. He ruined an interesting course.

This is by far the worst professor I've had. He loves to hear himself talk and I'm pretty sure he only teaches this class for free labor for his events. I have not learned a single thing in this class. He expects us to be writing papers at a PhD level yet will spend 3 hours on how to do an outline or research (High School level) RUN AWAY FAST!!

Had him for NCLC401conservation biology. If you enjoy wasting your time on tedious field trips take this class. The increase in laptops went from 5 to 25 in a week that is how bad he is.Lectures are boring and are 3 hours long.Teaches us how to write papers and outlines which we have learned in high school. bottom line don't take this class.

Overall Professor Wood is extremely knowledgeable about what he is teaching. He had lots of interesting stories from his own experience. Come to class, do your readings, and turn in your assignments ALWAYS, because he doesn't like for people to be skipping class or showing up late. Takes awhile to grade assignments, but isn't a difficult grader.

Prof. Wood is personally a very nice guy, but had difficulty engaging most of the students in class - and class was based around our discussions. When not trying to get most of the kids to actually contribute, he would ramble about non-pertinent things. He was difficult to contact (and receive feedback from), but overall a pretty good professor.

Interesting class. Yes this class covers a lot of different topics - but it is a broad subject. Dr. Wood is an interesting teacher who clearly has an interest in his students and in the subject matter. You can count on an interesting class.

Other than being very disorganized and sometimes has lofty ideas. Dr. Wood is a great professor. He is willing to opening discuss concerns and ideas from his students and is extremely flexible if you approach him. His integrative teaching style creates interest in those where there was none before.
