Comment:

I liked Professor Kruze, he is a really sweet old man who is very knowledgeable in the subject. Many kids already knew the history, so not a lot of kids paid attention and just went on their computer. But he talked about a lot of interesting history. Only two tests (one the final), and sometimes gives kids 100% easy or F for lacking some elements.

Comment:

4 short essays, 2 open book exams and 1 group project. He does take attendance every class but if you need to miss it just talk to him he's very chill. The class is broing but he's a great professor and really cares about students.

There's one group project presentation. I went to one of the historical places but when he graded me after the final exam, he said that he doesn't believe that I went there so he dropped some points on that. That is actually why I'm mad about this professor.

Comment:

I had Professor Kruze decades ago; the classes were: Gov. and Politics in China and East Asia, and Western Civ. He turned me on to history, especially Asian, and I'm grateful for that. I now have a son who is a history buff, and he's amazed that I'm acquainted with Ch'in Shih Huang ti and the Duke of Zhou. Thank you Prof. Kruze!

Comment:

One of those class you won't have to worry too much about. Just do the work and you'll get an A. Maximum of 6 classes you can miss. Total of seven homework assignments, an open-book midterm, and an in class final. Overall, the professor himself is nice but the content of the class may somewhat be boring.

He's a really good professor, it feels good to attend his lectures because they are relaxed, instead of being really stressful and making you tense up. I would attend his lectures again if I could.

I like this professor. He is not tough so it is good to talk to him if you have questions. If you do the work, you will get a good grade. It only matter if you do it or not. He also has a grace period that if you submitted work a little bit late, he will still count as usual, which is great. definitely recommended!

Prof. Kruze is a funny, easy-going guy that tends to go off topic during lectures and has an unorganized system. A lot of students never show up to class, and the ones who do are distracted. He gives a lot of EC opportunities. Grades pretty easy. Bottom line: put in some effort and get an A, but you're not going to learn as much as you had hope.

Decent Professor, but his age is clearly showing. He may be one of USF's most senior professors, but he hasn't published anything substantial in the last five years. As a person he is a great guy, but not the best professor. If you are okay with pestering him for extra help weekly, you will get a good grade, but honestly who enjoys that?

Decent Professor, good personality and is willing to help if you ask for it. My biggest complaint with him is the massive tangents he goes on during lectures, another major complaint is that he takes forever to return submitted assignments, and grades, meaning that you'll be kept in the dark about your grades unless you pester him every week.

Approachable professor especially if you ask for help, will definitely help you if you need some extra credit or willing to help students in some way. Goes off topic most classes but honestly is a good guy who will most of the times be willing to help you out. Overall pretty good and easy class. Also, gave the class a week extension for term paper.

He is my favorite professor in USF. He gave many extra credits and provide the opportunity for having free lunch with him. I love him so much! Easy Grader! He is very knowledgeable in East Asian History.

Teaching HIST384, he: 1 Gave my paper a 70% because he thought I made up an org I wrote about, the EPA. I had to go to his office & google it for him to change my grade. 2 Came into class 1 day, talked for 20 minutes abt how his hungover from his daughter's wedding & left 3 Told the whole class my handwriting was messy. Avoid. at. all. costs.

Comment:

While Kruze does tend to go off topic a lot, he does try really hard to make his class as interesting as possible. When he is not going off topic, he sticks to the syllabus and textbook. Everything on the quizzes/exams is based on the textbook - very straightforward. He is a very fair grader, and he cares deeply about his students' learning.
