Can you say "forced retirement"? Watch out, he will spend the last ten to fifteen minutes of class reciting 20-30 study questions. Why doesn't he put them on blackboard or type them out for class? It's very annoying and so are the cult devotee

Great professor. Does everything a professor should do, engage his students, engage the subject and make it interesting. He's also a pretty damn good poet to boot!

He talks about his religious views and personal history and life experiences too much in class, at the expense of the class subject matter. Also, his constant references to his dead wife are uncomfortable. Yes, I feel bad for him, but mentioning her as often as he does unnerved many students in teh class.

I absolutely love this man. You can tell that he is very passionate about what he is teaching. The tests (there are 2) are stressful if you haven't taken them before, but I like that we can show what we know about the readings. I definitely recommend taking him. I'm taking him again in Am. Lit. 2.

I love this man. This man is o kind and so willing to hear different opinions on literature. He is always willing to accept that a student might have a better interpretation. He wants to hear what we think on exams, rather than regurgitate what HE thinks. Also a very gifted poet.

Cares very much about what the student thinks. Very open to different interpretations of literature. Cares about what the student gets from the text, not what the teacher thinks is true. Wants the student to value their own knowledge. Kind. Very kind.
