Comment:
Dr. Huss is a complicated person. He truly cares about his students and the topic of history. But he gets so excited that he gets off track and strays from the syllabus. So it's kind of a make it up as you go along. He readily accepts input from the class on assignments, though he may need reminding on what you decided. Overall a great professor.

I came to him for help and he said it was better for me to drop his class. He does not care about his students, and he will find ways to make your life miserable. I have heard he makes people cry in class. Good luck.

This may be the worst teacher i have ever had. He is extremely rude, will put you on the spot, and call you an idiot. He always is worried students will be recording the crude things he says to us students and always is mentioning how people wrote bad reviews for him at the end of the semester. No wonder!! He forces his opinion down peoples throat.

Dr. Huss is an amazing professor. You can ask him for help, he is funny and just a great professor. Students that dont like him usually are unwilling to do work (hello its college). He is an amazing professor and will make class fun if you let him.

While Dr. Huss's class is very long and boring he is a great professor. You will learn what you need and he tries to be as accommodating and fun as he can. I wouldn't take his class again for the sheer amount of work that has to be done but overall Dr. Huss is a great professor.

I know many people feel he is difficult and stern. He actually is not. He teaches history in a very interesting and unique way. Instead of providing facts and dates for you to remember, he wants you to understand why people did what they did. What was their logic behind it. But if you need help, he'll work with you to make it easier for you.

I thought he was intimidating at first. But, I realized that he is truly an amazing professor and person. He cares about his students and wants to see them strive. He helped me come out of my shell and talk more in class, which I appreciate greatly. There is a lot of reading but if you do the work, ask questions, and come prepared, you'll do fine!

takes 2 weeks to go thru syllabus, already past drop date. Does not follow syllabus. you wont know if you are failing because after midterm, you only have 1 grade. if u are failing, u need to come up with a plan but he will NOT allow u to do extra work/group work. his teaching style is not for those who dont like history, u should know already.

I loved Dr. Huss! He was intimidating at first, and I wasn't used to the amount of reading or the type of material. The class enhanced my critical thinking skills greatly. But participation is absolutely essential. I got an idea for the pace and what was expected after about the 4th class.

Dr. Huss cares very much about his students. His classes are definitely not easy, but you learn a lot from it. Work for the grade you want. Read and reflect on everything. Facts are everything, but he also wants to hear your opinion -- just be able to back it up. TAKE HIM, YOU WON'T REGRET IT! He helps you enhance your critical thinking skills.

He talks a lot and expects you to know a lot before class. He lost my paper twice, and blamed me. You have to read a lot and he calls on you randomly in class.

If you are someone who actually reads the assigned material, be prepared to read over 800 pages for the text, and another 3 books for the final paper (Bibliography). Dr. Huss cares about the material, and cares about his students. My main complaint about this professor is that you essentially have to MEMORIZE the material for tests.

Beware if you're taking this class expect to read a lot! It is a very challenging class, and definitely recommend not taking it if you have a tough major. Assigns long readings, and jumps around on topics. Also expects you to memorize the readings.

I had Huss this past semester, and even though I found him a bit intimidating at the beginning of the semester, he was the best professor I have had so far at Gwynedd. He is a very genuine person and he always made the class enjoyable. I would definitely take one of his courses again. WARNING: You will have to read a lot.

Very difficult and confusing class. Jumps from topic to topic, and make sure you have a vast knowledge of previous history. If you are a nursing major or any other major the requires time, BEWARE, you need to read a lot for this class.
