Amy is...interesting. She is pretty relaxed and very friendly and upbeat. She gives out a lot of great readings. This class is so easy. Amy did a great job of inviting the Spirit there as well, which I loved.

Amy is totally awesome! I had her for TMA 102 my freshman year and had her for 112 again this last semester. She is a very caring and passionate teacher that makes film applicable to everyone. Recommended!

I enjoyed the class and Amy. She made lectures fun and interesting. Your grade really depends mostly on your TA though. You have simple (as long as you read) reading quizzes, a final projects, and a couple easy papers. You are graded on attendance too so show up. I really did enjoy the class!

the film choices were great, but the amount of busy work was frustrating. papers were a bit annoying at times, but usually helped you understand a film better. the most annoying things were the time you had to devote and how lectures were nothing but repeating the reading that was already tested. not terrible, but more effort than it was worth.

Amy is not only the most sexy marvelous teacher in the world, she has literally changed my life through the things she taught me. I cannot thank her enough for all the things I've learned--not only about media, youth culture, and education, but about life. Best professor I've ever had!

She runs an entertaining class and she generates some interesting discussion and feedback (even in a large auditorium. However, she has definite leftist leanings and will show anti-american Japanese internment camp documentaries without an adequate counterpoint.

Amy is an awesome professor. She offers great discussions in this intro to film class. I learned a lot and felt that her grading was fair. She challenged people to develop their own opinions and support them. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed the class, but felt that if my opinion in the weekly papers we wrote on the films differed from hers, then I got marked down. Maybe I'm not good at analyzing, but I hate feeling like I'm getting marked down just because I don't share the same opinion as the professor. Isn't that why we're in college? To learn how to think for ourselves?

Class was very fun and beneficial. I learned more from the TAs and from the book though. Pro. Jenson gave somewhat confusing lectures that didn't seem to fit together. It got so artsy sometimes I had no clue what was going on and it seemed like hot air.

Lectures were great, but there was a lot of busy work to keep up with. I learned a lot from the coarse and enjoyed it, even though my grade doesn't reflect that.

This was definitely my favorite class, and my most relaxed. It involves time and effort, but it's so worth it, and you learn tons. Haven't taken the final yet, but either way, Amy's awesome, knows her stuff, and is fun. I would take it again!
