Dr. Rao has got to be one of the smartest people I know. He always answered every question logically, and was open to new ideas and input. His class was amazing!! It was super interesting, well structured, and really cool! The tests were in a neat format, and each day I learned something new. Highly recommend.

Dr. Rao is an amazing lecturer. He really wants you to be able to understand the information. Go to lectures and you'll be fine for the exams and quizzes. Practically no homework for histology. Just the lab drawings. So exams/quizzes and the lab drawings are the only scores in your grade, but he really does provide the information needed to do well

Dr. Rao is AMAZING. He's an adorable person who truly does everything he can to make students in his Bio1000 class succeed. Your success in his class is 100% up to you- if you put some effort into it, you'll pass with a high grade. If you slack off, you won't. He has a firm grasp on the subject, and has great stories. Exams are lecture-based.

Dr. Rao is a phenomenal teacher, by far one of the best at MSUD. His knowledge is truly vast and he is excellent at conveying some of the trickier topics. Advances in Biology has been very interesting and Dr. Rao pushes you to think past the information that he gives you. He doesn't just read from his Powerpoints, he lectures passionately.

Took him for human Bio 1000 for non-majors and i didn't miss a single class but still wasn't able to pass his class because it is a lot of Power Point lectures. Its lectures and testes and few extra assessments. Sometimes his lectures are long and boring.

Comment:
Dr. Rao is not a bad teacher. The material is heavy by itself. As a student who wants to go to dental school, I think many of materials in this course is way useless. The students have to memorize lots of body parts and their functions. Some instructors make it easier and some like Dr. Rao expects the students to know everything he talks in class.

Dr. Rao is amazing. Probably the best professor I have had at Metro. I have taken him for three classes. His exams are difficult, but they are curved based on the class average, so it is relatively easy to do well in his courses if you put in the work. I wouldn't say his exams are hard as much as just the material itself is hard. Highly recommend.

Professor Rao is a hard grader but he is worth it. Expect to do a lot of studying. He is able to put everything into a context you can understand. If you plan on doing anything in health care he is the professor to get you a good solid foundation.

Rao was challenging, but if you work hard you will get an A. He was very up to date with information and knew what he was talking about. He basically sums up lecture slides and gives personal experience to topics. I found that you can print out the lecture slides and study them hard, his tests are basically the exact same as the slides. Hes great!

Very very long class. This is a typical histology class. You learn the lecture and then during lab draw the histology aspect. Not too exciting at all, but better than most I'm sure.

Rao will take off points from your atlas if you are missing the smallest detail. Lecture material is covered very quickly and sometimes ambiguously. You might be technically right, but that's not the answer he's looking for. He curves grades but it's still hard to get a good grade. Practice your drawing skills now, he wants detail. Very extensive

Awesome teacher if you are taking Histology with A&P I or II. His lecture is very thorough to the point where you don't have to study at all for A&P. His Histology class schedule usually coincides with most A&P schedules so that everyone is on the same subject. Awesome professor and his tests are not that bad. Don't buy the text, unopened.

If you go to his lectures and study the notes and i mean study the notes and don't try to study everything the night before the exam you will pass! he gives extra credit GALORE which i really appreciate because Anatomy and physiology is not easy. He Answers all of your questions and does not talk down to you. He is very respectable and pretty cool!

Contrary to the other reviewers, Dr. Rao does care about his students. He is just very straightforward and confident (which can be mistaken for looking down on somebody). He's not a mean person. His lectures are very thorough. He asks the class questions to check understanding and tells really interesting stories and keeps you engaged.
