He is an extremely hard teacher. Tests are HARD. Avg on every test was 40-50 and not curved. Adds tricks to them to see if you are able to do the test problems. Extremely helpful during office hrs so you should go. Is willing to put in the time to make an appt to give you help. Did not do enough examples during class. I would stay away from him!!

his tests are HARD. the homework problems arent bad & same with examples in class then you are completely blind-sided when you get the test. he's not a bad guy & very helpful...go to office hours! he also curves but you still need to work really hard.

One of the greatest teachers I have ever had. He shows a great deal of knowledge about Math, and always ends class with an interesting story. His notation is sometimes difficult to understand, but he takes the time to explain it multiple ways. He is always willing to help any student during his office hours and before/after class. Great guy

The only English speaking professor when I went to SUNY Cortland... Had him my senior year for Calc 4, and by that time, i was lost, so he was a great teacher, but I had so many gaps, it was tough to catch up.

As a person who loves math, he made me hate it. He teaches very well, but the problem is..what he teaches and what's on the tests/hw are completely different! Treats calc 2 likes is the only class your taking. So much work, I will never take him again and I suggest others STAY AWAY.

He is my favorite Math teacher ever. He explains everything so well. I thought I was going to have a lot of trouble since I took a break from math for a year then jumped right into Calculus II, but he explained everything very well.

Dr. Feissner is the best professor I have had at Cortland. He is so enthusiastic about math and this really comes across in his teaching. Even though his tests are hard, it's kind of refreshing to have a teacher who makes you think on a test, rather than just spit back what was in the homework.

His class is fairly easy if you like math...except he does want you to do alot of explaining of your problems so if you aren't very good at explaining what you did then you get points off...but that is the only aspect that makes the class hard...other wise he is a good professor

his classes are interesting, he is a professor that genuinely likes mathematics and it comes across in his teaching. his lessons and his expectations are clear. his tests are harder and sometimes he throws in a curveball, to differentiate between those who truely understand the material and those who just recite it back. he is one of the best professors in a crappy math department and a brilliant mathematician.

I have never been a good math student but Dr. Feissner was great. He teaches math like someone telling a story, its hard to describe. Lectures are easy to follow and homework is fair but the tests are very hard. He expects you to take what you know and apply it. Very enthusiastic.

I walked into Dr. Feissner's Calculus class having a tenuous grasp on algebra, and walked out with a firm understanding of calculus and algebra, which has helped me greatly in later classes. Very effective teacher, but his tests are pretty difficult.

Explains concepts well in class but the tests are very different from either the class examples or the homework. Very difficult tests. Doesn't assign enough homework. He does curve the grade so that is a blessing.

The best math teacher at Cortland. Always available if you need help. Great lecturer -- you'll be on the edge of your seat. Workload is a bit heavy, tests are pretty hard but he curves. You'll learn a ton.
